Narrator's POV
"Hey, Lauren!"
The raven-haired girl winced at the sound of her name because usually, she only gets called by the cheerleaders or maybe her sisters. With all this fame they're getting, she somehow just ended up cutting all her friends out of her life, which was not a smart choice after all, but yeah, kinda too late.
Anyway, back to the person calling out for her. The voice sounded really familiar, almost just like the one that's able to make her feel that warm fuzzy feeling in her stomach.
Oh wait.
She looked around in the crowded hallway and indeed saw Y/N standing there by the side, waving at her to come over.
After what happened last Friday, they haven't spoken since. That's actually normal cause it's not like they'd hang out during the weekends or something. Today's the first day they're seeing each other again after that... incident, where Lauren suddenly ran away.
The raven-haired girl smiled and almost made her way over to the older girl, but then the same thoughts as last Friday crossed her mind and she found herself blocking Y/N out. She continued her way out of the building.
Y/N huffed to herself and pushed through the crowd, trying to get to the other girl. She knows that she saw her, so she's definitely just trying to avoid her now. After some shoving around and running, she finally caught up to Lauren. She grabbed ahold of her hand, pulling the younger girl to a stop too.
"Wait, Lauren," she puffed out, trying to catch her breath.
Lauren froze at the fact that Y/N was still holding onto her hand and it was making her heart beat faster than it should.
Finally, Y/N has her breathing sorta under control again and dropped her hold she got on the raven-haired girl in the process. "You run really fast, did you know that?" Last Friday, she already immediately chased after her but she was just way too fast for her to catch up. "So why are you running away from me?"
Lauren hesitatingly glanced up and saw the Y/E/C-eyed girl already looking at her, waiting for the answer expectantly. "I just..." she paused for a second and unconsciously stuffed her hands in her pockets. "Never mind. It's nothing, I was just being weird." On the second thought, she didn't wanna voice what was going through her head out loud. She doesn't know what kinda reaction she could expect from Y/N and... she just doesn't wanna get disappointed and hurt by her too.
Y/N noticed she was hiding her hands away again and smiled softly at her. "You don't have to be ashamed of them," she said, nodding towards her hands that were hidden in the pockets of her jacket.
Lauren looked down at what the girl was referring to and realized that she noticed. She turned her head to look away, feeling very embarrassed. "They're just weird and ugly and--"
Her sentence got cut off by Y/N pulling her into a hug, surprising the both of them with it.
The Y/E/C-eyed girl just didn't want to see her feeling so negative over herself and she honestly didn't know what else to do besides this. She has never been good with words anyway, nor was she ever a big fan of hugs, but yeah. She gently rubbed the younger girl's back in a soothing manner before squeezing her. "You're beautiful just the way you are, okay? Fuck everyone who tells you otherwise."
Lauren's whole body just froze up in Y/N's embrace. And since their bodies are pressed so closely together, she was scared that the other girl might be able to feel her heart hammering so fast against her chest too.
"Okay," she finally managed to mumble out.
Satisfied with the answer, Y/N pulled away from the hug. A blushing Lauren slowly came back to view, and that made Y/N chuckle a little. "You good?"
