"Shit!" I cursed hitting my dashboard like it was going to help. The car slowed and I pulled over to a curb. "You have got to be kidding me!" I got out of the car and the cold air blew at me. My boots were covered in snow and no matter how many layers I was wearing, I was still freezing.

I took my phone out of my pocket and searched for a signal. Nothing. I placed it back inside my pocket and looked around. Off in the distance I was able to make out a house.

"Not that far," I whispered to myself. I wrapped my coat tightly around my body and began my trek to the cottage.

Once outside, I knocked on the door. A few seconds later a boy, a little older than me with dark brown hair styled up into a little poof, opened the door.

"Hello? How can I help you?" he asked.

"My car broke down a little ways way down the road. I saw your house and thought you could help me."

"Would you like to use my phone?"

"Please?"

The boy moved a bit so I was able to walk through the door. I picked up the phone and called my mother. The whole time I was on the call, I could feel the boy stares on me. I hung up the phone and turned to look back at him.

"So?" he asked.

"Um, I'm about another hour out from my destination. Apparently there is a blizzard coming, so my family won't be able to come out and get me."

"I have a room you can stay in if you'd like."

"That'd be amazing."

"I'll go grab you some clothes."

Before I could say anything, the boy walked off. He came back a few moments later carrying a pair of black jogging pants and a gray sweatshirt. I went into the bathroom and changed. His clothes smelled like cologne. It smelled amazing.

I walked back into the living room and the boy was sitting on the couch with two mugs in front of him on the coffee table. I took a seat next to him.

"I made some hot chocolate," he said with a gorgeous smile. The smile lit up his whole face and made him look like a god. He was beautiful.

"Thank you," I picked up one of the mugs and drank from it. It was delicious and warmed me up. We sat in silence, sipping our drinks. "So, what's your name?"

"Myles. How about you?"

"Katy."

"So where were you headed, Katy?"

"Up north to visit my family for the holidays." I looked around the beautiful house, "Do you live here?"

"No, I live in California, but I come up here for the holidays. To get away, ya know?"

"I understand. I'm actually really glad my car broke down."

"Explain," he said turning in his seat to look at me.

"Well, my mother and older sister are always bugging me about getting a man and getting married."

"I'm sorry, that must be awkward."

"Yeah, it is."

We sat in silence for a while again until I broke it, "What about you? Any special girl in your life?"

He looked at me and gave a sly smirk, "Not yet." Myles moved closer to me on the couch.

I also moved closer and returned the smile, "What do you mean by that?"

Myles put his hand on my chin and lifted my face to place a kiss on my lips.
