Chapter 29
Logan's pov
Two weeks later
"Oh my god," Elijah whispered as he changed Mia's diaper, I held in a laugh.
"It's not that bad you whiner," Echo clucked and continued making diner.
I took a moment to admire her beauty, having children filled her out, I swallowed remembering how it felt to have her pressed against the wall, tongue in her-
"Logan, stop staring at her ass," I blinked and glared at Jace. "Fuck off," I snapped and forced myself not to look again.
"Where's Damian?" Elijah asked finally finished changing Mia who smiled and held onto his finger.
"He's still with Theo, the poor boy won't stop screaming." Echo turned and looked at the stairs in concern.
"He's fine," Jace told her quickly.
Echo turned back around and finished her meal. "Could someone get him? Theo needs fed anyway, and honestly Damian doesn't have the patience to deal with a screaming child for long."
Jace ran upstairs, I turned to see Echo biting her lip in concern. "What's the matter?" I asked watching her.
"I don't know... something-" she stopped speaking as Damian came down with a screaming Theo. As soon as Echo's arms wrapped around the child he calmed.
"The fuck," Damian snapped and huffed. He quickly picked up Mia who giggled.
"Mia is a happy smiling baby, why is Theo so grumpy? He doesn't smile, always fusses unless it's Echo, or Elijah who holds him. I don't understand." Jace murmured watching Theo carefully.
"Hey, Theo let's me hold him... Sometimes," I said wincing. Okay never... Not since we were at Quinn's house...
As if Theo knew exactly what we were taking about he began to wail. And maybe he did know... maybe that was the problem, the child knew to much.
"Shh, shh," Echo tried to calm him, Theo continued to cry loudly as Mia giggled.
Echo looked suddenly exhausted, a low sigh escaped her. "Take Mia out," I murmured to Damian, who frowned but quickly obeyed.
Theo slowly calmed and touched Echo's fingers, clutching them tightly.
"The twins don't like each other," I muttered.
"Really? But they're, you know, babies." Jace said scoffing as he motioned at Theo.
I clenched my jaw as Jace shut down my idea. "I think your right... Oh god, what am I supposed to do?" Echo sniffed and tried to hold back her tears as the stress of the past two weeks got to her.
Theo whimpered and began crying again seeing his mother upset, loud cries escaping him.
Jace took Theo quickly and brought him outside, grabbing his bottle in the process. Echo finally let her tears free.
I wrapped my arms around her. "It's going to be okay."
"What do I do?" She whispered shuddering in my arms.
"We'll figure it out, we always do..."
Echo's pov
I slowly backed away from Logan wiping my face. I sat down at the table and started eating what I had just cooked.
"Echo, what can I do?" Logan asked watching me, I felt slightly better seeing that he cared so deeply for me.
"Can you see if Theo and Jace are okay?" Logan nodded and went out to check on them leaving me with Elijah.
"Your doing a great job," Elijah promised me. "Yeah, lovely, Theo won't stop screaming, I haven't slept in days... at least Mia is doing well... but Theo, oh god what do I do?"
Elijah was silent, I sighed. Then suddenly it dawned on me.
"He's clearly distressed, won't calm down unless he's with me... Or you. When we were with Quinn's husbands he was fine, but wouldn't let Damian hold him."
I paused. "What if he's seeing something we can't, the second someone ever shows any sign of anger or rejection of him he screams for me..."
Elijah frowned and motioned for me to continue. A burst of fear shot through me as I looked around.
"We're not alone, Theo is trying to tell us something, and I have a feeling you know what that something, or someone one is now."
Elijah stood pale. "It's back, the thing that possessed Damian." I nodded and took a deep breath.
"Get the others,"
***
"So..." Jace said pursing his lips.
"The question I've been wondering, is how could the creature possess us? Nothing has been able to do that before." Elijah pointed out.
"I think it has to do with your... anger, or sudden feelings of hate." Logan raised an eyebrow.
"Just think about it! I mean Damian was clearly pissed for days before he was possessed, Chaos told me your anger only fueled him... So..."
"You might be on to something," Jace murmured.
"And why would Theo only let Elijah hold him, I mean... Maybe it's because he knows something we don't, maybe Elijah can't be possessed because he has no anger."
"When did you get so goddamn smart?" Damian asked grinning at me.
I cleared my throat. "How do we get rid of the thing?" Jac asked groaning. I bit my lip.
"Who are you gonna call? Ghost busters!" I joked weakly and looked around.
"That's it, I'm calling Quinn," Jace stood and walked out of the room to call him.
Logan huffed in annoyance. "It's not a bad thing to need help sometimes Logan," I told him gently.
He nodded and gripped his hair looking at the ground. "Damnit..." Theo whimpered and looked at Logan and slowly began crying.
"Logan stop it!" I told him and his head shot up.
Logan walked over to Theo and touched his head lightly. "I'm sorry bud, everything is okay," Logan promised and kissed Theo's head gently.
I held my breath and gasped as Theo slowly smiled for the first time. Logan gently picked up Theo and I fell backwards into the couch watching them as my eyes drifted shut.
"Everything is okay, everything is okay," Logan murmured again and again as I fell asleep.
Yeah... another chapter, why?
Because I couldn't help myself.
Like for real, this book is just so fun to write.
I could sit down all day and just type away like a maniac. (Twice a day isn't too much right?)
Hopefully everyone is enjoying my crazy updates... If not... Well... ➡🚪
See y'all next chapter!
