"Ally, anong nararamdaman mo sa kasong sinampa sayo ni Zach?"

"Sinusuportahan ka ba ng talent management mo?"

"Ally, totoo bang sinasaktan ka ni Zach?"

"Is it true that you're cheating on Zach with your ex?"

I kept my head down at hindi pinansin ang mga tao sa paligid ko kahit halos banggain na nila ako. I was in a stampede and having a hard time to breathe literally and figuratively. These people just never gave me a break.

The bodyguards around me did their best to clear the pathway towards the Office of the City Prosecutor, but some people just don't know their limits. Napahawak ako sa braso ng isang bodyguard dahil muntik na akong matapilok sa dami ng paang naaapakan ko.

Ginger was taking long strides ahead of us - she was looking at the media and casually answering some questions vaguely. "Please respect the privacy of my client," she said to one of them.

When I finally set foot inside the office, I was already exhausted and trying to catch my breath. I couldn't believe how the country seemed to stop functioning just to watch the drama that ensued in my life. When I started acting and dreaming of becoming a star, I knew and accepted that prying eyes are gonna be watching me - but I still didn't expect it to be this hard, to be this big of a deal.

Before I could even catch my breath, my jaw dropped on the floor upon seeing the figure of a man I am very much familiar of. A shiver ran through my spine, and my whole body reacted to his very presence. He's here - as if he knows exactly what I needed but wouldn't admit. As if he has been listening to my prayers.

He was looking at me as if he's been watching me for minutes now, dark circles under his eyes like he hasn't slept for days, his gray long-sleeved polo untucked. He looked unsure whether he will smile but in the end gave me a smirk instead. He raised his hand, too.

"Hey, Margarette," he said in a low voice, almost a whisper, like he was gauging if it's okay to even talk to me.

I composed myself and walked towards him. "What are you doing here, Spencer?" My voice shook with nervousness.

He stood there, hands in his pocket, two top buttons undone, hair a perfect mess. This feels different and familiar all at once. Who would've thought that this guy whom I used to just play dolls with, whom I literally watched grow up, is standing in front of me as a completely different person?

"I was subpoenaed to provide evidence on cases filed against me," he said casually, like it didn't bother him at all. "How are you?"

Shit. I dragged him into the mess that is my life.

"What are the cases filed against you?" My tone softened.

"Grave threats and serious physical injuries."

Napabuntong hininga ako. Hindi ko alam na ang galit ko kay Zach ay posibleng madagdagan pa. I can feel that anger like a lump forming in my throat.

"Ally?" Ginger called my name, but my eyes remained on Spencer. Both of us just looking at each other. We've known each other all our lives, and yet, that day, I was clueless about what he was thinking.

"Go on, kick his ass, Margarette," sambit niya at tipid na ngumiti.

Ginger took care of everything as promised. She gathered all the witnesses during that night and all the evidence that may affect the case. Along with the filing of our counter-affidavit, we also filed the TPO and our own complaint. My family and I had to stay in Palawan during the whole process and to say that it was exhausting is an understatement.
