Lost Love~(MxR)

The sky was grey as dark clouds began to cover it. A cold breeze blew and a slight fog was seen in the air.

You sat on a bench that was near a park awaiting the arrival of your girlfriend because she wanted to have a 'talk' with you.

You began to play with your fingers as you watched parents play with their kids at the playground that was barely in sight.

Your leg bouncing up and down as you began to become anxious.

As more time passed thoughts of what Minerva had been wanting to talk about started to plague your mind.

In fact you were so far in thought that you hadn't noticed that Minerva took a seat next to you on the bench until she gently tapped your shoulder.

Slowly turning your head you saw Minerva. At the sight of your girlfriend you smiled, you expected Minerva to smile back but instead she turned away and looked to her feet.

"I...Uh I think we should break up" she said letting out a heavy sigh.

You always thought this was a possibility but after dating for a year you pushed that thought away.

You stopped all movements, your once fidgeting fingers stopped moving and so did your leg.

Tears began to blur your vision but you didn't let them fall. Taking a deep breath you looked at Minerva.

"Why?" you questioned, your voice coming out in a broken tone and more raspy then usual.

"I....I don't feel the same anymore...The love I once felt i-it's not there anymore"

"I'm sorry (Y/n)" she said softly.

You nodded your head and took a sharp inhale of air before letting it out slowly trying to calm your nerves.

She reached for your hand when she noticed how shaky it was but you pulled it away from her and turned your head away.

"Please don't" you whispered "I-I get it, it's not your ch-choice when you love and when you don't...I-I get it I really do and I'm not mad..." you took a deep breath before continuing.

"I-it's just you're the love of my life a-and....I c-can't lose you a-and...a-and" You tried to finish your sentence but your emotions became to strong to hold back, a sob left your mouth as your shoulders shook and tears fell down your cold cheeks.

Minerva pulled you into her arms and as much as you wanted to fight against her grasp you couldn't. You didn't want her to touch you fearing that if she did it would only make it harder for you to let her go, as soon as she held you in her arms the fear of her leaving left you but it was only temporarily.

You slowly wrapped your arms around her before sobbing into her shoulder as she rubbed your back.

Pulling away from the hug a few seconds later you held your hand out in front of you "I-I can't Minnie... P-please if you keep t-trying to hold me i-it'll only make it worse"

She nodded her head before scooting away slightly to give you space.

You calmed down enough to look at your now ex-girlfriend in the eyes.

You noticed she had small tears in her eyes and you sighed at that. Standing from the bench you took a deep breath and faced Minnie.

Slowly you reached your shaky hand out letting her grab onto. You pulled her up before pulling your hand back to yourside.

You sniffled before looking to the shorter girl and giving her a small smile.

"I know you don't feel the same anymore...but I love you" you said one final time before gently placing a kiss to Minerva's cheek and walking off with your head down and a now broken heart that was now no longer filled with love but with sadness instead.

"I know...I wish I felt the same" she whispered out as she watched your figure walk into the distance.

Turning to walk home a small tear left her eye "I'm sorry for the pain I've cause".
