~Reader becomes sick and gets clingy~

The sun shined brightly upon the kids of Texas Two, everyone wearing nothing but smiles on their faces as they converse about random topics and enjoy the peaceful aurora around them.

Well most of them.

You had just woken up, and almost instantly you felt sick to your stomach. Your head was throbbing, your throat was burning and your stomach was cramping.

To say you felt like shit was an understatement.

You groaned as you slowly sat up, pain shooting through your head at the action. You really wanted to just lay down and sleep, but the absence of your favorite blonde pushed you to get out of bed.

You made your way out of your room and traveled down the vacant hallway, your movements were slow as you shifted your feet, hoping the slow pace would help your aching body in some way.

When you managed to make it to the double doors you let out a quiet whine. You really didn't feel well enough to move in the first place, and now that you are moving your starting to feel worse.

Using all of your strength you pushed open the door, sunlight illuminating your pale complexion.

You squinted your eyes, waiting for them to adjust to the lighting before you gazed around the courtyard, searching for Violet. When you spotted her by the watchtower talking with Clementine you let out a sigh of relief.

Coming up to the two girls you wrap your arms around Violet from behind, placing your forehead on her shoulder as you suddenly became dizzy.

Violet stopped talking mid sentence as a small smile ghosted her lips.

"Hey y/n" she spoke. You didn't reply, only nuzzled your head further into her shoulder and tightening your grip as your headache worsened. Violet grew confused when you hadn't replied, usually you would always reply back but your sudden silence caught her attention.

She turned her head to the side to look at you "Are you okay?" you shook your, letting a whine slip past your lips as you regretted moving your head. Violet grew concerned and she slowly walked out of your grasp.

She looked to you, a frown taking place on her face as she saw how sick you actually looked.

"Why are you up?. You should be in bed y/n"

You frowned at this and held your arms out. Violet sighed but walked towards you, pulling you into a hug. When you placed your head in the crook of her neck she frowned again. Your forehead was extremely hot, a telltale sign that you had a fever.

She pulled away from the hug and placed her hand on your forehead.

"You've definitely got a fever" you groaned and closed your eyes.

Violet turned to Clementine and gave her an apologetic look "I'll talk to you later Clem" she nodded her head and watched as Violet gently pulled you towards the dorms.

"Feel better y/n"

You stuck out your hand and gave Clementine a thumbs up as you laid your head on Violets shoulder. Today wasn't gonna be a fun day for you.

"Here, lay down"

You did as Violet said, instantly curling into the blankets. Violet sighed and tried to think of ways to help you feel better, but being sick in an apocalypse didn't help your situation. Any medicine the school had was most either way past expiring or just non-existent.

She crouched down next to you, gently pushing some of your hair back that stuck to your sweaty forehead.

"Is there anything I can get you?. You know. . . besides medicine?"

You lightly chuckled and shook your head, reaching one of your hands out to grab hers.

"Just want you to lay with me" you mumbled into the blanket, your eyes closed as you already began to fall asleep again. Violet gave you a lopsided smile before pulling back the covers and laying beside you. Her smile grew when you moved closer to her, nuzzling your head into her neck as your arms wrapped around her waist.

She gently ran her hand along your back, her nails lightly scratching your skin causing it to tingle at her touch.

"Go to sleep y/n"

You groaned and shook your head causing the young blonde to frown.

"Why not?"

"Don't want you to leave" you spoke out, voice quiet and raspy. Violet sighed and and moved her hand from your back and to your head, lightly scratching your scalp and playing with your hair.

"I'll stay right here. I won't move till you wake up" she assured you, pulling you closer to her and placing a lingering kiss to your forehead.

A small smile graced your lips at her small gesture. Violet was never the one to show affection. Well to anyone but you. She loved to act tough around the others, like she was a complete hard ass, but in reality she was a huge teddy bear, always affectionate towards you but as soon as someone else joined you two she was cold.

"Promise?" you whispered, already falling asleep, barely hanging on to consciousness.

Violet smiled again and kiss your head one more time.

"I promise. Now go to sleep"

You nodded your head, your grip tightening around Violets waist as you fell asleep.

"Feel better soon y/n. I love you"

Violet smiled as she looked down at your sleeping figure. She knew there was no way to make you feel better right away, but she was happy enough knowing her presence gave you more comfort in your sick state.
