It was a quiet night at the school for troubled youth, the soft 'chirping' of crickets filled the air as everyone lied asleep in bed... well almost everyone.

Aj lied awake, unable to fall back asleep after his terrible nightmare about you dying while protecting him and Clem.

The two of you met when Clementine had walked away from Kenny.Clem was struggling to care for the young child,the pressure of having to keep him fed and safe was starting to catch up to her along with the never ending amount of anxiety she would feel when she would hear the growls of the walkers that would pass her.

but all that stress went away when she met you, you helped make sure they were both fed even if it meant that you didn't eat, you made sure they were both safe while they slept even if it meant you went a few days without sleep. You didn't care if you got hurt as long as they were safe because you saw them as your family.Taking the roll of their older sister and making it your duty to protect them and to help them when they were in need.

Aj wanted to talk to someone but he didn't want to bother you or Clem. 

He thought and thought until he came to the conclusion that he could talk to either Violet or Brody. Both of his options have something to do with his care takers, Violet and Clementine are together so they are probably in the same room and the same goes for you and Brody.

He decided that he would try and talk to Brody only because if he does somehow wake you up you wouldn't be mad about it unlike Clem and Violet because they loved their sleep.

Aj left his room making his way to yours and Brody's, the soft pitter-patter of his small feet being echoed down the hall quietly until it suddenly stop right outside your door.

He opened the door peeking in then quietly moving into the room and closing the door. Walking over to the bed he saw Brody cuddled into your side while you nuzzled your face into her hair and the sound of soft snores filled the room.

Aj walked closer to the bed lightly shaking Brody awake making sure he wouldn't wake you up in the process.

"Brody, please wake up" he whispered into her ear causing her to stir in her sleep and come to her senses. 

she turned around in your arms to face the source of the voice

"Aj?...what are you doing up?" she questioned groggily while rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she pulled away from your grasp gently and pulled Aj onto the other bed in the room.

"I had a nightmare and I didn't wanna wake (Y/N) or Clem" he said as he hugged Brody

"What was it about?" Brody asked in a soft voice

"Clem, (N/N), and I were walking around the woods when we were attacked by another group..." he started to talk only to come to a stop as tears began to fill his eyes

"W-when we got attacked Clem and I were running and (Y/N) was behind us...When we were running they were about to shoot me but she pushed me out of the way and got hit instead....she didn't make it and...and I had to watch her t-t-turn" he said as he started to sob into Brodys shoulder.

Brody tried to shush the young boy remembering that you're a light sleeper and any noise is bound to wake you from your much needed sleep..but she was to late, you had already began to stir from your sleep.

Sitting up you looked around the dark room allowing your eyesight to adjust before completely turning to the noise that had woke you up.

A feeling of anxiety took over you as the sobbing continually grew louder. You rushed out of bed and over to Brody taking Aj out of her grasp gently and hugging is small form to your body as you walked back and forth  in the room while rubbing small circles into his back effectively calming him down into a very sleepy state.

You turned to Brody giving her a concerned and questioning look in a way to ask 'what happened?' without talking which she understood.

'Nightmare' she mouthed to you, you nodded your head and started to hum softly to the melody of  'Nevermind The Darkness' Aj was fast to fall asleep in your arms.

You placed his sleeping form onto the bed tucking him in and kissing the top of his head "Goodnight goofball" you whispered softly.

Brody came up behind with a smile on her face after watching the short but loving moment that was shared between you and the younger boy.

She wrapped her arms around your waist and nuzzled her face into your back

"Sorry we woke you up. I tried to keep him quiet but he wouldn't listen to me" she softly giggled

"Its okay love, I don't mind. I know you didn't mean to and its not your fault" you said turning around placing you arms around her shoulders tugging  her close to you kissing the top of her head softly letting out a long yawn afterwards.

"alright back to bed" she stated while giggling mid-sentence. Dragging you onto the bed you both cuddled once again "You're a great 'big sister' (Y/N)" she stated "you too" you mumbled into the pillow while holding onto Brody not really hearing what she said due to your sleepy state making the shorter girl smile and let out a quiet laugh.

"Love you (N/N)"

"Love- ou-too" you said muffled from the pillow once again before you fell back into a light slumber.
