Parenting(CxR)

A/N: In this story you and clementine are 'parents' to AJ. When 'mama' is heard he's talking to Clem and 'mommy' is you. This takes place after the two of you got him from the ranch. The two of you went back to Richmond after saving him(Gabe is dead and Kate survived. sorry if you chose a different path).

The birds chirped and the sun shined brightly. The sound of kids laughter filled the air, but one laugh stood out from all of the kids...AJ's.

He laughed and squealed as you picked him off of the ground and swung him in circles with his arms out like an airplane.

Clementine sat on the steps just outside of your current home. The giggles and small squeals coming from AJ made her smile as quiet laughs left her mouth every now and then.

She watched as you placed him back on the floor and gently tapped his head yelling "Tag you're it!" before slowly running away making sure he wouldn't hurt himself chasing you.

"Mommy no!" he screamed as he chased after you with his tiny hands reaching out for you.

You hid behind a rusted dumpster waiting for the small boy to run past it. Once the boy was close enough you grabbed him and lifted him in your arms while making a 'gobbling' sound and slightly tickling his side "Mama! h-help" he giggled.

"Sorry kiddo mommy's way stronger than me...and taller" she said while looking you up and down as you smiled at her.

Placing a kiss to the boys cheek you let him down before grabbing a bouncy ball and throwing it gently at the boy who was walking towards the small soccer field to kick and throw it around with you.

"She's a good mom you know?" Kate questioned the shorter brunette.

Turning to face Kate she gave a small smile and turned her attention back to you "yeah.....she is...she really is". The small smile she once had only grew at the site of you and Aj hugging. "Shes a natural. When I first took care of Gabe and his sister I was a mess and look at her. Shes what? thirteen? and she's this good a parenting?. She's a keeper Clem". Patting Clems shoulder Kate walked away.

"She is... and I'm never letting her go.. I wont let either of them go" She whispered.

Turning her attention back to you she noticed that you and Aj were now laying on the ground, his small body lays on top of yours as his head lays on your chest, the soft rise and fall of your chest lulled the young boy to sleep.

Getting up from her seated position Clementine slowly and quietly made her way towards the both of you. As she got closer she saw just how close Aj really was to you, his small fist held a small bundle of your shirt in its grasp and his head was nuzzled into your chest as soft snores could be heard coming from the younger boy.

You laid there with your eyes closed as you softly hummed a random tune, your left hand ran up and down his back slowly as your slightly long nails gently scratched his back.

Finally reaching the spot where you were unwinding she sat down and gently began to lay on her back. Resting her head on your shoulder she shifted onto her side and took your right hand in her left one. You ran your thumb over her knuckles and let out a content sigh.

"I love you Clem" you whispered. Turning your head slightly you left a small kiss to her forehead

"I love you too bub" she said as she lifted her head to leave a kiss on top of Ajs head before kissing you on the cheek and nuzzling her face into your neck.

"You're really good at this whole parenting thing (n/n)...You should teach me some of it" she mumbled

"You're just as good as me my love...Now get some rest.I'll protect you two while you sleep...you deserve it baby"

Giving her one last kiss you moved your attention towards the bright blue sky and watched as the white fluffy clouds slowly moved.

Tightening your grip around your small family you smiled "God I love my family~".
