~Jokes always make sad moments better~
[P.S you're Clem's mother]
-
The soft crunch of snow beneath your feet filled the air as you made your way through the vacant woods towards the abandoned house you had found a few days ago.
Clementine walked beside you, arms crossed over her chest and head down as she stared at the snow covered trail while Luke, Kenny, Jane and Bonnie followed in tow.
You gave a glance to Clementine, concerned for her well being. She was clearly upset about something, whether it was because the dead were walking or if it was because she was thinking of the past, you wouldn't know.
You let out a small sigh and wrapped your arm around Clementines shoulders. She raised her head up to look at you for a quick glance before looking back to her feet, leaning into your side as she walked.
She rested her head on your side, you ran your hand up and down her arm, trying to bring her some comfort.
"How do you make a tissue dance?" you questioned, looking at Clementine to see her give you a confused look.
"What?"
You smiled at her and looked forward before repeating yourself.
"How do you make a tissue dance?" Clementine shrugged her shoulders and looked at you "I don't know. How?" she questioned, a small pout on her face as she continued to think of where you were going with this question.
"You put a little boogie in it!"
At the sound of her laughter a smile formed on your face. She unfolded her arms and wrapped them around your waist, giggling at your joke.
"What do you call a sleeping dinosaur?"
Clementine once again shrugged her shoulder, this time with a smile on her face "What!?" she laughed.
"A dino-snore!"
Clementines laughter filled the air again and your smile grew wider. She began to laugh so much at your little joke that she had to stop walking. You laughed at this and pulled her into a hug. When you looked up you saw the others smiling at your interaction and you smiled back before motioning in front of you.
"You guys can go ahead. Looks like we'll be here a while" you spoke, looking down to Clem before you started tickling her sides causing her to squeal and squirm at the feeling.
"N-no!, mom!. s-s-stop that t-tickles!"
You continued to attack her sides, showing no mercy to the younger girl. You were going to continue your small attack, loving the melodic and cheerful sound of her laughter. But your joyful moment was ruined when your heard growling.
The laughter filling the air came to a stop, a deadly silence consuming the both of you as you saw a group of 4 walkers.
Your blood ran cold when you saw how close they were getting and you instantly knew you had to get Clementine to safety. Not wasting another second you ushered Clementine to move, gently but urgently pushing her towards the others.
