A New World (CxR)

As years past the kids of Ericsons moved away from the school and to the New Frontier. One day seems to be more peaceful than all the others and great news is shared among all survivors.

You sat on the edge of one of the many tall buildings that practically surrounded your new home.

The sun had just began to rise and it created a large array of bright colors against the white clouds that seemed to blend in perfectly with the shaded sky.

You felt at peace, something you haven't completely felt since the apocalypse started, something you missed dearly.

Something about today felt off for you, there was no noise what's so ever, the silence provided you time to think, it was something you didn't get to do often.

However, the silence that once consumed you was broke, the soft sound of footsteps now filled the empty void.

"What're you doing up here so early?" the figure spoke.

"Couldn't sleep anymore" you stated calmly, turning your head away from the sun rise you smile at the younger girl.

The girl nodded her head before stepping onto the edge next to you to sit down, both of yours and her legs now dangling over the edge.

She took your hand in hers and turned to face the sky.

"The bright colors almost look like someone had painted them" you spoke softly, your smile growing wider as the calming atmosphere felt safer and more enjoyable at the younger girls presence.

"It does,doesn't it"

She placed her head on your shoulder and began to sway her legs back and forth, making contact with yours when she swayed them fast enough causing you to giggle and join her in the swaying action.

"Something feels off about today, I'm not sure why though" you mumbled.

She shifted her head so she could look up at you from her strange angle, her thumb traced circles into the back of your palm as she stared lovingly at you.

"Is it a good felling?" she questioned, nodding your head you peered down at her.

"Yeah, yeah it is"

She smiled and kissed your cheek "That's good" you smiled and pecked her lips quickly "It is" you whispered while staring into her golden-brown eyes.

You leaned closer to her but stopped before your lips touched, pulling you closer to her she closed the gap, your lips connected in a passionate,slow kiss.

You placed your hand on her cheek and ran your thumb over her smooth skin while her hand went to the back of your neck, deepening the kiss while her fingers curled into your hair.

The two of you pulled away a minute later when air was needed, placing your forehead against hers you pecked her lips once again.

With your eyes closed you continued to run your thumb over her cheek.

"I love you , Clementine" you stated, your voice filled with nothing but love, her lips curved into a wide smile and she slowly removed her hand from your neck and grabbed your other hand to intertwine your fingers together.
