~Puppies~

-

You made your way down the empty sidewalk, speeding cars continuously passed you as you slowly walked towards your house.

You had just gotten out of work and you were quite relieved. Today was an exhausting day and although you were rather tired you couldn't help but enjoy the warm feeling of the suns summer rays shining on your skin.

You walked with a bounce in your step, the shimmering sunlight boosting your mood and energy level by a ton, it was as if you weren't even tired in the first place.

You turned a corner, entering the oh-so-familiar neighborhood that always brought a smile to your face. You and Minerva moved into this neighborhood two years ago and you've enjoyed almost every single day you've spent living in it.

You smiled and waved joyfully at your friendly neighbors who would greet you as you trailed past their houses.

"Good afternoon y/n!. You're off a little late"

You smiled and waved at Mrs.Hadly, the neighborhoods friendliest neighbor.

"Good afternoon Mrs.Hadly!. I got a little held back at work but today's weather was most certainly worth the wait"

She smiled and bid you a goodbye as she watched you walk towards your house. You took another turn, your smile widening when you saw the outline of your house. You continued to walk towards your it but you stopped by the small alleyway that was attached to your neighborhood.

Soft whimpers came from the rock filled alleyway. You raised an eyebrow and slowly walked into the alley.

"Hello?" you called softly. You frowned when there was another whimper, a bark shortly following the saddening sound. You ventured further into the alley, a small gasp leaving your lips when you saw a large box move slightly.

You walked over to the box and knelt down beside it. Flipping over the cardboard flaps of the box you gasped again.

Inside the box laid a brown and white spotted saint-bernard. A smile graced your lips, replacing the frown you once wore. You awed at the small animal before slowly wrapping your arms around it.

It cried a little as you picked it up but as you held it in your arms its small cries came to a stop. It nuzzled its head into your warmth and you awed once again, your heart melting just at the site of the little animal.

"Hi baby!" you cooed, running your index finger along its spine.

"Where'd you come from huh?. Where are your parents?" you questioned, searching in any direction to see if the owner was still around.

You sighed when no one was in sight. You turned to the small pup and lifted it up higher so you could give it a small hug.

"Don't worry little guy. I'll keep you safe" you spoke, as if the small animal could completely understand you. You stood up and looked in the box again, finding a small baby bottle and a few toys which you imagined were for the small pup.

You grabbed the bottle and toys before swinging your backpack off of your shoulder to place the objects in it. Once you were situated you held the puppy firmly in your hands before you made your way out of the alleyway and to your house.
