Chapter: 11

I started to smell something and saw a cloud of steam forming around our working table.

Before I could reach the test-tube with the chemicals, the steam was filling the whole classroom.

Within a second the fire alarm went off and all the students left the classroom.

'This always has to happen to me..' I said, disappointed in myself.

'Get out, everyone! These chemicals are dangerous! Get out!' Mr Green exclaimed.

Zach and I were the last ones to leave the classroom.

The whole school had evacuated and stood now in front of the school.

As I made my way outside, I saw everyone looking at us.

'Zach,' I said as I poked him in his side.

No answer.

'Zach!' I tried again.

'Yes, Jasmine,' he finally responded and that's when he noticed all the people that were staring at us.

'Oh, nevermind,' he said as soon as he saw it.

Everyone knew it was us, because we were still wearing the white jackets.

'Good job Zach,' Corbyn said as soon as he saw us.

'You killed that bro,' Jonah added.

This was the first time Jonah didn't annoy me right away, only because he thought that it was Zach's fault, when it was clearly mine..

'Guys, guys. It wasn't his fault, it's my fault,' I said a little shy.

'I didn't know there was another junior as bad as you Zach,' Jonah said, what made me kinda mad.

Corbyn could see that I wasn't amused by Jonah his comment and started to talk about something else.

A little later, Simon joined our group and Zach and I kinda explained what happened. I hadn't seen Daniel yet, luckily.

***
We cleaned as much as we could in the chemistry classroom, but most parts where cleaned by the firemen, because the chemicals were too dangerous.

***
Time for lunch.

After this horrible morning.

We gathered in the canteen and sat down at a table.

Daniel sat two places next to me at the same table, but on the other side so I could handle it.

Until Daniel spoke up..

'So, I heard that flasher almost blew up the school?' he said laughing, obviously making fun of me.

Jonah laughed along of course, the dick he is.

'It was an accident, dickhead,' I said on an annoyed tone.

'Woah, you don't have to get aggressive little girl,' Jonah added what really pissed me off.

'Shut the fuck-' I almost screamed as I stood up and banged with my fists on the table, scaring everyone who sat at it.

'Guys, come on let's just-' Corbyn cut me off, trying to prevent the situation from escalating any further.

'No no. Let her finish,' Daniel cut Corbyn off, who also stood up now.

'Are you challenging me?' I asked and raised my eyebrows.

'Maybe I am,' Daniel answered and narrowed his eyes.

That's when I threw the spoon out of my cup with yoghurt and threw it in Daniels face.

'Oh shit,' Zach said, knowing this only could go one way.

'FOODFIGHT!' Jonah screamed through the canteen.

Normally, everyone stands up and throws food through the canteen, but now, everyone just looked at our table to see how Daniel threw his bowl noodles over my head.

'TAKE THIS SKINNY BOY!' I screamed at the top of my lungs and threw my creamy milkshake at him, which I actually looked forward to, to drink.

'STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!'

The headmaster had stormed into the canteen and everyone went silent.

'Just in time headmaster, I ran out of food to throw,' Daniel said with a laugh.

'You've got balls kid!' Jack exclaimed what made some people laugh.

'Both of you, detention for a week,' the headmaster said trying his best to stay as calm as possible.

'You'll clean this after school. All of it,' he added and then left the canteen.

The bell rang just at the right moment.

Everyone left the canteen immediately. Our group was the only one left after a minute.

'I'm going home,' I said as I ripped a noodle out of my hair that got stuck.

'I'm coming with you,' Simon immediately said and walked after me.

I got into the car with Simon, that was covered in noodles and soup in no time.

'I'll clean that up later,' I said as I looked around at the mess.

'Daniel will clean that.'

I couldn't help but laugh a bit.

'It was my fault though..'

'No, it's not. He had it coming. And to be honest, I kinda enjoyed his head full of yogurt and milkshake,' Simon said with a little smile.

'Same,' I responded.

Simon dropped me off at my home so I could take a shower. I wasn't planning on going to school anymore. At least not this afternoon. Tonight, I had detention. With Daniel. Ugh.

***
It was time for detention..

I had put on some old clothes, in case Daniel pissed me off again and I couldn't resist throwing some food again.

So I hopped in my dads car and drove to the school. It felt so weird that there was almost no one at school. I didn't see Simon's car in the driveway. I hoped he made Daniel walk.

I walked into the school building and walked through the big, empty hall.

I walked straight to the canteen and as I entered, I didn't see Daniel.

I don't know if I should be happy or not. If Daniel isn't coming, I wouldn't be so annoyed. On the other hand, I don't want to clean this mess on my own!

In the corner, there stood all the cleaning supplies. I put on some gloves and grabbed the mop.

I brought my earphones with me, incase Daniel's voice would be too much.

Since I was alone, I decided to put them in and listen to some music.

'And I was like, baby, baby, baby, oooooh, like, baby, baby, baby,' I sang softly, but very off key.

Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I got scared like shit and in my reflexes, I smacked the person with my mop.
