Chapter: 28

I opened the doors and we walked into the room.

Daniel gasped..

'What?' I asked confused.

'Just as boring as I thought it would be,' Daniel responded careless and walked over to the trolley with books on it.

I let out a little laugh. I could've expected that.

I also walked over to a trolley and took it with me to a row to place all the books back on the shelves.

Daniel started on the other side of the row. Sometimes I saw his head peaking through the gaps between the shelves.

'You know, I think I may have thanked you when I was drunk, but I just wanted to say it again now that I'm sober, so still, thanks for letting me crash at your place. I really would've been screwed if I got home so wasted,' I heard Daniel saying from the other side.

'Well, you didn't only thank me..' I responded.

'What do you mean?'

His head suddenly appeared through one of the gaps, scaring me a bit.

'Did I tell you that I liked you?' Daniel asked.

'Kinda in a way. You told me about your situation when you lived with your parents and how that had an influence on you. Then I got a call from Simon that your mom was worried so I wanted to text her, but I saw that you had been texting someone about a girl... and my curious ass kinda, maybe, a little read all the texts..' I said and gave him a forced smile.

'I was talking about you right?' Daniel added.

'Yeah you were. And I thought it was the cutest thing ever though. Please don't be mad at me,' I almost begged him.

'I'm not mad. Don't worry. Is that why you kissed me, because you knew I liked you?'

'I guess so..'

'Then I'm not mad at all,' Daniel said and smiled at me.

I giggled a bit and gave him a smile back.

'Thank you for telling me that story though,' I said as I placed a book on the shelve.

'Of course. I'll tell you some stories another time when I'm not wasted,' Daniel answered with a laugh.

'I would love that.'

Daniel and I just talked and placed the books on the shelves. The task was pretty boring, but talking to Daniel wasn't.

We we're in the middle of a conversation when we suddenly heard voices.

A small group of people walked into the library.

They all grabbed a chair and placed them in a circle.

That's when one of the girls noticed us.

'Are you guys new to the bookclub?' the girl asked.

All the faces were turned our direction now.

'Noooo, absolutely not!' Daniel responded while shaking his head.

'We have detention and-' I started but got interrupted.

'Sorry we're late!'

Two guys came storming into the room.

Wait. Isn't that...

'Jack? Jonah? What the hell are you guys doing here?' Daniel asked before I could.

He looked confused, and so did I.

'Oh hey Daniel!' Jonah said surprised.

'We're just..' Jack started.

'We're just going to discuss this amazing Harry Potter book. Jonah requested it and I must say, it's a good one,' the girl finished.

This has to be a joke. Jonah and Jack are part of the book club. This is the most unexpected thing ever.

''Mindy! Shut the fuck up,' Jack exclaimed.

'My mother sent me here, it's been a week or so. Really boring, I must say,' Jack said facing Daniel.

'Yeah, same!' Jonah added.

'They wanted to get in so bad. We had to discuss it first, cause they had kind of a bad reputation in school. But we let them join, two years ago,' Mindy, apparently, told us.

'That's not..' Jonah said.

'True? Yeah it is,' Mindy finished.

I love this girl. She's got some attitude!

'We'll leave you guys to it. This seems very important. We we're done anyway,' Daniel said and walked towards the exit.

'Do you guys also practice like the spells that harry potter uses or some shit?' I asked Jonah and Jack, to tease them.

'Of course we don't! That's ridiculous!'

'Riddikulus. That's a great spell!'

One of the other members spoke up this time.

'So you do. That's just so, so sweet,' I said teasing them.

Jonah and Jack looked not amused and kinda embarrassed.

'Jasmine, come on, leave them to it,' Daniel said as he stood by the doors.

'Have fun, wizards of mine!' I said while raising my voice a bit, as I made some weird spiritual movements with my arms.

I did enjoy this and you can't blame me for it.

I walked over to Daniel and we both started to laugh.

We walked together towards my car and stopped there to talk for a bit.

'Can you believe that? Jonah and Jack are into books,' I said to Daniel in non belief.

'I know right. I don't understand why they didn't just tell me..' Daniel answered and looked down at his feet.

'Don't feel bad about that! It was their choice to keep it a secret, just as we keep this our secret,' I answered and grabbed his hands.

It was pretty dark as we stood in the middle of the parking place. That's probably why I didn't see Jonah coming towards us, as I pecked Daniels lips.

'Are you guys dating?!' Jonah asked very loudly, what scared the living shit out of me.

'No. We're not. Really,' Daniel responded, also in shock.

'You're not really?' Jonah asked confused.

'We're keeping it a secret. So keep this to yourself dude,' Daniel answered on a serious tone.

'Sure, let's make a deal then. I won't tell your little secret, if you guys won't say anything about the book club,' Jonah said.

'Alright, deal,' Daniel immediately answered.

They shook hands and Jonah nodded once, before walking to the school entrance.

Daniel turned back to me and smiled a little.

'But dude, I already knew you liked her,' Jonah said as he turned around.

'How?' Daniel asked confused as he also turned around.

'I read those texts with your brother. Real cute,' Jonah said at last and walked further.

'Why is everyone reading my got damn texts?!' Daniel said as he raised his voice a little.

'You really gotta change your password,' I answered with a laugh.

'I really should.'
