Chapter: 20

Jasmine rolled her eyes at me and as we got out of the office, the headmaster walked over to us...

'You guys can start with the welcome drinks,' he said and closed the door behind him.

I looked at Jasmine who just shrugged.

We walked over to the canteen where all the tables stood on different places.

I heard the voices and the loud music of the play as we walked through the hall.

'I'll get the bottles, you place the glasses on the table,' I said as I walked into the kitchen.

'Yes sir!' Jasmine responded while pretending she was a soldier.

I laughed a bit and opened the fridge.

'Cheap champagne. I like that,' I said as I got a bottle out.

'Do you think they could miss a bottle?' I asked Jasmine.

'You're not drinking that badboy,' she responded while shaking her head.

'Why not?'

'Cause we can't be drunk if all these people come.'

'Alright.'

Pov: Jasmine

I saw Daniel disappearing into the kitchen again.

I went on with placing the glasses on the table.

'What is taking you so long? I'm almost ready with the glasses,' I said after a while.

'I have them,' he said as he appeared again with one bottle in each hand.

'Took you long enough,' I said as I grabbed one bottle out of his hand and poured it in the glasses.

Daniel did the same.

The afterparty had begun and the whole canteen was now filled with all the people of the play and some parents and friends.

Me and Daniel were behind the table and filled the glasses.

There wasn't much time to talk. I had nothing to say to Daniel so it wasn't that bad.

I grabbed another bottle out of the kitchen and when I walked back to the table, I saw a familiar face.

'Hey Corbyn,' I said as he smiled at me.

'Hey.'

'How was the play?' I asked while pouring the champagne in some glasses.

'Yeah it was fun. My sister had a little part in it, I thought, but turns out she was behind the stage,' he said with a little laugh.

'Well, some people gotta take care of the behind the scenes stuff too right?' I responded.

'Guess so,' Corbyn answered.

'Cooper, more walking, less talking,' Daniel said who walked passed me and Corbyn with a tray full of glasses.

I rolled my eyes at him.
