Chapter: 55

Jas screamed my name and that was when I realized that we were approaching a large current with big rocks sticking out of the water...

I swallowed nervously for what was about to happen.

The boat started to wobble as we reached the current.

I tried to paddle away from it, but it was already too late.

Within seconds, the boat turned and Jas and I fell in the water.

I panicked as the strong current kept me under for a while.

I finally managed to swim to the surface.

I gasped for air and tried to calm down.

I looked around, but Jas was nowhere to be seen.

'JAS?!' I started to scream panicking.

I looked around, waiting for her to come to the surface.

I felt my eyes watering, as I suddenly hear a gasp from behind.

I turned around and saw Jasmine. She was trying to pull the wet strands of hair out of her face, as it blocked her sight.

'Are you okay?' was the first thing I wanted to know.

'I am,' she answered out of breath.

'Are you?' she immediately added to her sentence.

'Yeah, don't worry about me.'

As we had been swimming along the current, I saw all the canoeing boats laying on the shore nearby.

'We're at the end!' I screamed towards Jasmine as I pointed at the boats.

We both started the swim towards it, trying our best to swim through the strong current.

As we reached the shore, I saw Zach, Corbyn, Jack and Jonah a little bit further away.

They immediately came running towards us, as they saw that we tried to get out of the water.

'Hey guys what the fuck happened?' Jonah asked confused.

'Jas your leg!' Corbyn exclaimed as he pointed at Jasmines leg.

I turned my head and saw a blood stream down her leg. It was quite a lot.

Corbyn stormed into the water, making his way to Jas, and so did I.

'Jesus I didn't even feel it before. It hurts like hell,' Jasmine said as she inspected the wound.

'Can you walk?' I asked concerned.

'I think s-' she started but got cut of by her own scream of pain as she lifted up the leg.

I hated to see her in pain. At that point I just wished it was me instead of her. She didn't deserve it.

Jas wrapped one arm around Corbyn and one arm around me, as we made our way out of the water onto the land.
