Chapter: 41

When we pulled away, I saw a familiar face walking by...

Out of my reflexes, I pulled Daniel by his arm and duck behind some trash cans.

'Simon is here,' I said.

'NO!' Daniel responded angry what took me by surprise.

I looked at him confused.

'Sorry, he keeps ruining my favorite moments with you,' he said, what made me warm up a little.

I looked at Daniel and quickly looked back at the path where I saw Simon and Dylan walking together.

This is why he didn't tell me what he had planned tonight... ugh.

'You know that I really like you, right?' I heard Daniel say, while rapping his arms around me from behind.

'Daniel I do really like you too, but I'm not quite sure if this is the location, hidden behind a trash can, where I would want to talk with you about that,' I said laughing a bit.

'I think it is a perfect location,' he responded and planted a kiss on the top of my head.

I turned around and faced him.

Not that I could see much, because the sun was completely set by now and there were no lights between the trash cans.

'What did I do to deserve you?' I asked, not expecting an answer.

'You literally gave me the chance to open up towards you. I was a total dickhead and still regret that, but am so glad you kept on talking to me and gave me a second chance, it really means a lot to me,' he said.

I saw, from the little bit of light that we had, that Daniel his eyes were watering a little bit.

This boy makes me so soft.

'Can you stop? You're gonna make me cry,' I said as I pushed my head in his chest and wrapped my arms tightly around his torso.

'I am crying,' Daniel said.

'I know, I saw your eyes watering, what made me almost cry,' I responded.

'I really said that out loud, huh?' he said and laughed at his own comment.

I hugged him a little tighter.

We stayed like that for a couple of minutes.

Still hidden behind the trash cans at the fair.

'I must say...' I started.

'You've become a lot more muscular,' I added while squeezing his bicep.

Daniel looked down at me.

'Have you been hitting the gym?' I asked curiously.

'Nooo... why would you think that?' Daniel responded sarcastically.

'Maybe because your grip is 3 times tighter than the first time I hugged you.'
