Chapter: 39
'Well, here goes nothing,' I told myself before I rang the bell..
There I stood, still in my pyjamas, in front of my own house.
And guess who opened the door. Simon. How convenient.
'Daniel?' Simon asked really confused.
'I had a rough night okay,' I said as I walked inside.
'But-'
'Don't ask any questions,' I cut Simon off as I walked up the stairs.
I immediately went to my room and closed the door behind me.
I got dressed and left for school a while later.
We stopped at Jasmine's house and it was like nothing had happend.
Pov: Jasmine
'Where did you go last night?' Simon asked as
I buckled my belt.I looked into the rear view mirror where my eyes met Daniel's eyes.
'I went home,' I responded as I moved my eyes to the road.
I saw from my eye corner that Simon nodded at my comment.
The rest of the ride went by in total silence.
It was kinda awkward. I also made me wonder if Simon could tell what was going on between us, if he knew about me staying over last night.

I walked into school and immediately noticed Zach.Oh god. I totally forgot about that thing.
I focused on the floor that was ahead of me until I reached my locker.
'Hey!' Corbyn said enthusiastic as always, startling me a bit as I looked up from the ground.
'How are you not having a hangover?!' I asked surprised.
'I just.. don't,' Corbyn shrugged with a big smile.
'Why am I not surprised..' I responded as I opened my locker.
The bell rang and I said goodbye to Corbyn. I had been chatting with him ever since I entered the school building. I hadn't even grabbed my books yet.
The hallway became emptier and emptier and I just couldn't find my math book.
After combing through my locker for way too long, I still couldn't find my book. I must have left it at Corbyn's place.
I decided to just go to class real quick.
The class had already started and I walked in really embarrassed.
I told the reason why I was late and sat down in a chair in the front of the classroom, cause that was the only place left.
There is just something about the front row that terrifies me. Maybe it's because the teacher always picks the front row to answer questions. And I'm in math. And I suck at math. This is gonna be a long lesson...
***
I've never been so happy to hear the sound of the school bell ringing. At least now the whole class knows that I absolutely suck at math. How great.
It was time for lunch. I was on my way to the canteen when I locked eyes with Zach again.
I stopped before the canteen doors.
That's when I noticed that he was talking to Lynn, or at least, Lynn was talking to him.
Well, at least he got over me pretty quickly.
I have to make this right though.
I walked over to them and interrupted their conversation.
'Hey, can I talk to you please?' I said as I faced Zach.
'Are your eyes in your butt or can't you just not see that I'm talking to Zach?' Lynn said on the most bitchie tone you can imagine.
'Of course,' Zach said and grabbed my hand what took me by surprise.
I followed Zach as he walked outside onto the parking lot.
'Can we just go back to being friends?' I asked with a little sigh.
'Sure,' Zach responded with a little smile.
'Wow, that was easy,' I responded a little surprised.
'And that's why you only have male friends,' Zach said with a laugh.
'I guess so,' I answered with a laugh.
'I just wanted to say that I'm sorry though. I was drunk and I thought we had a moment, but it turned out it was only me noticing that,' Zach said with a little nervous laugh.
'I'm sorry Zach, I just like-'
I stopped myself before Daniel's name came out of my mouth.
'-to be single right now,' I finished.
'It's not you, alright,' I added to cheer Zach up a bit.
I was telling the truth though. There was not one thing that felt wrong about Zach, but he just isn't.....
Daniel.
***
Zach and I joined Corbyn and Simon at the canteen table after our talk. After lunch, we had a couple more classes.
After school, Simon dropped me off at home.
I did my homework and studied for an upcoming test.
I fell asleep early cause I was still exhausted from the party from last night. I shouldn't have drunk alcohol. It's my own fault.
***
The next day started off as usual.I woke up by my alarm, made myself ready, ate breakfast, you know it by now.
Simon picked me up and Daniel and I locked eyes again through the rear view mirror, what had become a daily thing now.
The school day also went by like always. I just followed my boring classes and chatted with my friends in between.
I thought the day was going to end as boring as it had begun. But that was absolutely not the case.
'Mom can you hand me the-' I said as I pointed at the remote that was laying on the table.
I got cut off by the sound of the doorbell.
I didn't know who I would be though. I didn't meet up with Simon, cause he was 'busy'. He didn't want to tell me why.
Of course I hoped it was a specific person.
I opened the door and before I could say a word-
