Chapter: 27

I really discovered that school is so boring without Simon by my side. He really makes school less difficult.

So, after school I decided I would go get some chocolate and visit Simon.

I walked home and hopped in the car as I arrived and drove to the supermarket. I wanted to buy 2 chocolate bars but ended up buying 4 so I could save 2 for myself. I just thought I deserved it for a reason that I can't think of.

After shopping at the supermarket, I went to Simon's house.

I rang the doorbell and a familiar face opened.

'Hey, what are you doing here?' Daniel asked confused.

That's when Simon also walked to the front door.

'Hey Jas,' he said with a little smile.

'Move skinny guy,' I said to Daniel and gave him a push as I walked inside.

I didn't like it to act like that to Daniel. But it is for the greater cause. Simon would be pissed if he found out I kissed him.

I kissed him. Damn, still can't believe how amazing that was.

'Bitch,' Daniel responded and rolled his eyes at me.

He doesn't mean it, he doesn't mean it.

That's what I keep telling myself.

'I got you chocolate!' I said to Simon and held up my chocolate bars.

'You got 4? You wanna make me fat?' Simon responded laughing a bit.

'Noo. 2 for you,' I answered and gave him the bars. 'And 2 for me.'

'I should've known that,' Simon said with a laugh.

'And 1 for me,' Daniel said, grabbed one of my bars and went upstairs.

'You could've just asked!' I screamed after him.

I like Daniel, but taking one of my chocolate bars? That goes too far.

'I'm not really craving chocolate right now,' Simon said as he laid them down on the kitchen table.

'I get that but when you get better you may want some.'

'Or when you come over and eat all the chocolate as always.'

'Shit, you caught me,' I responded and followed Simon upstairs.

Simon laid down on bed and I sat down in the hanging chair, as usual.

We talked for a bit about all kinds of things. I got a call from my mother that she would make dinner.

'I'm gonna go. I hope you feel better soon,' I said as I held to doorknob.

'Don't do anything I wouldn't do,' Simon responded with a little laugh.

'I won't. Bye.'

'Bye Jas.'

Why did he have to say that. It makes me feel even worse about hanging out with Daniel.

I closed the door and at the same time, Daniel came out of his room.

'Hey,' he said softly.

'Hey..' I almost whispered.

'You're a really good friend. Simon is a lucky fella,' Daniel said and came a little closer.

'Thanks..' I responded as he still came closer.

'I can't do this right now Daniel. I'll see you at detention,' I quickly said and stormed down the stairs.

I grabbed my two bars that were laying on the kitchen table and left the house.

I got in the car and laid my phone in the passengers seat. Just as I wanted to start the engine, I saw that I received a text.

Messages || Simon🥴

Simon: Who the hell were you talking to behind the door?

Shit.

Jasmine: Oh, my mother called again.

Simon: I didn't hear your phone ringing?

He's suspicious already.

Jasmine: That's because it was on silent 😇

Simon: Alright. Just thought maybe that asshole that lives with me was harassing you.

Jasmine: No, don't worry. I gtg. Love ya x

Simon: Too x

I tossed my phone back on the seat, started the engine and drove home.

I had dinner with my mom. It was nice. I don't have dinner with my parents very often. My dad wasn't home of course. Dinner with both my parents is a really rare event.

But I can't blame them. They work really hard so we can live a good life.

I didn't have much time to do anything after dinner cause I had to go to school again for detention. It's not that bad anymore, now Daniel and I are good.

I hopped in the car and made my way to school.

I was just focusing on my surroundings as I saw a familiar person walking on the sidewalk.

As I got closer, I saw that it was Daniel, so I pulled over. Simon let him walk, again.

I opened the window and stuck out my head.

'Hey, hop in!' I almost screamed.

Daniel walked around the car and got into the passengers seat.

'And we meet again,' Daniel said with a smile.

I laughed a little at his comment and drove to school.

We arrived and got out of the car.

As we walked through the hall, I saw a sticky note hanging on the door of the headmaster office.

'I'm walking my dog. Go to the library and clean up the books. If the task isn't completed at the end of the evening, there will be consequences,' was written on the note.

'He's really straight to the point,' I said after reading the note.

'He is. Let's get the fuck outta here. He won't know that we did nothing,' Daniel responded and already made his way to the door.

'We're not gonna skip the last day. That's a stupid thing to do,' I answered trying to convince him.

'Well, if you didn't know yet, I'm pretty stupid,' Daniel said on a sassy tone and walked further.

Daniel isn't Daniel if he isn't a dick every now and then.

'Come on. It's not even that bad. Would you rather go gum scraping again, cause that was a great succes.'

'Alright, cause you're asking me so politely,' Daniel responded and rolled his eyes.

I walked the other way and Daniel followed.

'I don't even know where the library is?' Daniel said confused.

'Of course you don't,' I responded.

'What's that supposed to mean?' Daniel said kinda offended.

'It's just that you're not that into books and learning things, but that's okay.'

'I am learning things,' Daniel said confident.

'Such as?'

'I'm learning how to be less of an asshole,' Daniel responded after thinking for a little while.

I just laughed at his comment.

'Are you ready? It's a lot to take in,' I asked Daniel to tease him, before opening the library doors.

'Yes I am,' Daniel answer and rolled his eyes again.

I opened the doors and we walked into the room.
