Chapter: 22

I turned off the phone and went upstairs. I crawled into my bed right away. It had been a long day...

***
The next morning I woke up by my alarm.

I had set it a little early so I could hop in the shower, since I didn't have the time for that last night. Also, I still smelled like champagne, thanks to Daniel.

Daniel! I totally forgot he slept over.

I went downstairs just to take a look if he was really gone.

I walked down the stairs and saw that even the blanket was back in place. Thank god, I don't have to explain anything to my parents.

I went back upstairs and jumped into the shower. It felt nice, the hot water on my body. Nothing better than a long shower to clear your mind.

The only thing that was wandering through my mind were those texts. I know we had our moments, but I absolutely didn't expect him to like me.

After the shower, I blow dried my hair. I wanted to put on some make up, but then I remembered Corbyn saying that he thought I was beautiful without. Such a sweet thing to say.

So I decided to go all natural today. I wasn't feeling sick anymore so I looked less like shit.

I went downstairs, ate some cornflakes and hopped in Simon's car when he arrived.

I noticed that Daniel wasn't in the car. Weird.

'Hey girl! Looking fine today,' Simon said.

Simon is always my hype man.

'Thanks, you look great too Simon,' I responded while buckling the seatbelt.

'Where is Daniel?' I asked.

'I don't know. I figured he went to school straight away from Jonah's house.'

'Oh yeah, that's probably it,' I answered, lying of course.

I still don't like it to lie like that to my best friend.

After a couple of minutes we arrived at school.

I walked over to my locker, as always, to grab my books.

'Hey Jas,' Corbyn suddenly said from behind.

'Hey!' I responded enthusiastically.

'Last night. Where did you and Daniel go? Suddenly you two were gone?' Corbyn asked looking a little confused.

'Oh.. we..'

I was really doing my best to come up with a reasonable answer.

'We were done. The headmaster told us we could go, so that's why.'

'Oh, okay.'

'Jo dude!' Jonah screamed and signed to Corbyn that he should come.

I saw Corbyn hesitating a bit.

'Go!' I said and pushed him in the direction of Jonah.
