“We should have a famILY day today and all spend time together,” Patton suggested as he set out the last of the breakfast plates.
“I have no quarrel with that suggestion,” Logan replied with a pleasant hum.
“I would take any excuse to spend more time with my loves,” Roman said.
“How about you, V? You up for it?” Patton asked, looking over to the final side.
The anxious side was startled out of his thought, his dazed expression vanishing.
“Oh. Yeah, sure, I’m up for it,” Virgil replied slowly, still seeming a bit distant.
Patton gave him a concerned look but sat down in his seat to eat instead of bringing it up in front of everyone. The conversation drifted over what they’d like to do during the day. Virgil didn’t make any suggestions and hardly spoke beyond a one to two word response when mandatory. He hardly touched his plate of food, instead pushing it around with his fork, his face looking a little green. Logan did his best to try to include Virgil in the conversation as much as he could while Roman shot Patton concerned glances as if asking him what to do. Patton kept his concern about Virgil quiet until the end of breakfast, not wanting to overwhelm Virgil if something was seriously wrong. Virgil didn’t have his fenile attributes yet so Patton figured he couldn’t be feeling anything too strongly but there was still the concern he was repressing his emotions.
“Well, I think that a tournament of board games and card games sounds great, why don’t you two go set those out while Virgil and I clean up here?” Patton suggested once everyone, pardon Virgil, had finished eating.
Roman and Logan shot Patton a look which he gave a shallow nod to.
“I suppose that is an agreeable plan, Patton. I will see you both when you are finished in here,” Logan said getting up.
“I will be counting the minutes until all of my loves are together with me once more,” Roman said, lightly kissing the top of Virgil’s hand before maneuvering over to give Patton a quick peck on the lips.
Once the two sides were gone Patton began picking up the belongings scattered on the table, watching Virgil continue to pick at his food.
“Is everything alright honey?” Patton asked, turning on the sink.
“Me? I’m fine,” Virgil replied with a sigh, dropping his fork back onto his plate.
“I don’t want to pry baby, but you seem really out of it this morning,” Patton sighed worriedly as he quickly finished washing the plates and loading them into the dishwasher.
“It’s nothing wrong with me particularly. At least I don’t think it’s me. It could be me. I hope it’s not. I don’t want to be the one hurting him,” Virgil rambled, his ears and tail starting to pop out.
“Virgil,” Patton said, cutting off Virgil’s rant. “You aren’t hurting anyone, Kitten. Can you tell me what this is all about?”
“Is Thomas alright?” Virgil asked hurriedly, his eyes looking up at the emotional side, pleading for answers.
“Thomas?” Patton hummed in surprise. “I mean he’s been a bit more distressed recently but I figured that was because of how upset Logan is at him for not following his schedule.”
“Oh, okay…”
“I might have control over a lot of Thomas’s emotions but not all of them. Perhaps I missed something. What is it that is making you concerned?” Patton asked, sitting beside Virgil and looking at him patiently.
