Not really any strong trigger warnings this chapter. Brief mentions of burn injury, discussions about sex, and a bit of spiraling thoughts. As always take care of yourselves and thank you for reading!

Patton said they'd all bake the pie together so that's exactly what they did. Although, Virgil wasn't being much help as his hands, although mostly healed at this point, were still a little painful for him. The others proved to be quite over protective of him as they did everything in their power to prevent him from having to use his hands too much and only let him do small things like recite the recipe. Virgil didn't mind though, he enjoyed just being in their company. He was currently sitting on the counter right next to Patton who was flattening out two disks of dough, which he had prepared right after breakfast so they'd have a proper amount of time to be refrigerated. To his other side a little further over Roman and Logan were working together on preparing the apples. Roman was coring and peeling them while Logan focused on cutting them to be an eighth inch thick.
The air in the room shifted a bit and Virgil turned his attention over to where a new figure had risen up in the room.
"Huh, wasn't expecting to find you all in here baking again. Weren't you making cupcakes last time I visited?" Thomas asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I mean can you blame us, kiddo? Baking is fun!" Patton chirped.
"Eh, well as long as you like it," Thomas replied, not sounding nearly as enthusiastic as his Moral side.
"What is it we can do for you Thomas, or is this just a social visit?" Logan asked, looking up from the apples he was cutting.
"Oh, I wanted to check and make sure Virgil was alright," Thomas replied slowly. "Yesterday was rough. I didn't want to come in immediately in case I made things worse but, I was really worried something bad had happened."
"Sorry, I, uh..." Virgil hesitated wondering how much would be alright to share with their only slightly informed host. "I accidentally hurt myself and triggered a bad memory. Sorry for letting that get out and affect you."
"Hey, no apologies needed Virge, after everything it sounds like you've been through, I think I can deal with a little anxiety for your sake. As I said, I just wanted to make sure you were okay and see if something bad happened or if you needed anything," Thomas replied, approaching Virgil carefully.
"Doesn't mean I can't feel badly about it," Virgil pointed out.
"You're not going to stop feeling that way, no matter what I say, are you?" Thomas sighed.
Instead of replying Virgil simply snapped and gave him a pair of finger guns, earning a collective sigh from the majority of the occupant of the room.
"So, what are you guys baking this time?" Thomas asked curiously.
"We are attempting to make an apple pie. Which is not as easy as one would think," Roman complained.
"Yeah, but at least there is help this time. I still have a blister on my pointer finger from trying to cut, peel and core all of the apples yesterday," Virgil countered.
"And several others from burning yourself," Logan added, gathering up the last of the cut apples on the plate so he could deliver them to Patton. "Furthering Roman's statement, it is not easy to bake a pie."
On that note he walked over to Patton and Virgil to help put the apples in the dough-lined pie tin.
"Wait... Is this the reason I've been craving apple pie?" Thomas asked.
"Again, sorry about that," Virgil chuckled.
"Well now I want apple pie," a thoughtful pout crossed Thomas's face. "Can I buy an apple pie?"
