Hello again everyone! This chapter is a decent bit lighter on triggers than the other one. It's the tail end of a panic attack and a flashback. It's basically the aftermath of that and treating injuries. As always take care of yourselves and thank you for reading.

They had been out enjoying their date just as Virgil suggested but Patton grew wary of the negative emotions growing inside of his mind. He knew they weren't coming from himself, he was having a great time, which could only mean they were coming from Thomas. He ignored it for a while, figuring it was probably just Remus making him uncomfortable again, but then the feeling grew with a frightening intensity without any warning. He mentally checked in with Thomas and realized he was having an anxiety attack, a really bad one, which could only mean one thing for their poor anxious side. Patton had told them and Roman created a portal to bring them back to the living room as fast as he could. When they arrived they immediately were met with desperate whining in the other room and thick, smoke filled air.

Patton called out frantically for Virgil to respond, assuming the worst. He threw himself carelessly around the corner into the kitchen to find his distraught kitten on the floor. Virgil had pulled himself up into the corner as he let out the most heartbreaking cry Patton had ever heard as he struggled to breathe. His hands were cradled close to his chest but not quite touching anything. An obviously burnt pie lay on the ground just a few paces away from him, destroyed by what he assumed to be the fall. The oven was on and open. The stove top was on as well, the food on top smoking and burning from being left unattended for too long. Roman and Logan came in shortly after him, taking in the same distressing scene.

"Please... Stay away... Please!" Virgil pleaded brokenly as they approached.

Logan set a hand on both Roman and Patton's shoulder, speaking quietly so Virgil wouldn't become more distraught by loud voices.

"I'm going to turn everything off before a fire starts. Don't crowd Virgil," he warned before stepping slowly and carefully into the kitchen, taking a widest arch he could to give Virgil room.

He closed the oven and began turning everything off, pulling the destroyed food off of the burners with a nearby oven mitt to avoid accidentally burning himself. Patton went to Virgil's side, still giving him plenty of room, Roman not far behind, hovering over his shoulder to avoid crowding the already frightened man.

"Don't... don't hurt... me," Virgil gasped out desperately, tears rolling down his makeup stained cheeks.

"Shh, baby, it's okay. It's me Patton, can you see me Kiddo?" Patton asked in a calmling, gentle tone, still avoiding touching Virgil no matter how much he wanted to.

Virgil let out a few harsh sobs before bringing his gaze up to meet Patton's, tearful almost pleading with him to help make the pain go away.

"There's those beautiful eyes. Can you breathe with me?" Patton asked before beginning to take over exaggerated breaths to help Virgil follow along with the four-seven-eight pattern.

Virgil tried to follow along, not quite being able to hold his breath for the entirety of the seven counts but following along enough he seemed a bit more calm and present. He was still crying a bit and sitting in an awkward huddled up position.

"H-hurts," Virgil whimpered.

Logan perked up at the comment, tapping Patton in a request to let him take over. Patton bit his lower lip as he glanced between Logan and Virgil, not quite wanting to move away yet. Inevitably he decided if Virgil was injured Logan would be the best to help him in this situation. Patton drew away and Roman pulled him into a hug as they both watched Logan kneel down to Virgil's level. Roman's hands moved soothingly over Patton's upper arm in an attempt to keep him calm despite the emotional response he felt from one of his boyfriends being so distressed and from the emotional kickback coming from Thomas's anxiety attack. Meanwhile Logan observed Virgil trying to find the source of injury. He noted the strange positioning of Virgil's hands and gently grabbed for his wrists. The sharp whine and resistance he met with confirmed his suspicions.
