One More Day

An Alternate Ending

A/N: So before I get started, I just wanted to tell you guys I had this idea after I watched a video of someone playing through the DLC of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I will say this. Dimitri without his eyepatch is weird and hot at the same time. Is it odd that I think that? Anyway, Fire Emblem players know that there were specific routes that could change the outcome of the Fire Emblem Three Houses. And not everyone will have the same play through (unless it was a pure accident or something.) So I decided to do an alternate ending to this story since it didn't really end on a good-ish note for me in terms of writing it. Well, on we go!

"What?" I heard from the kitchen.

I ran out of my room to see Dimitri was standing up. His eyes were glued to the TV. Xander was there as well and he was watching everything. I walked over to his side.

"There you have it folks. That was the message from Edelgard herself."

"Edelgard?" I asked.

"S-She," Dimitri covered his mouth and trembled slightly. He shook his head, "No. S-She. I-It can't be real."

"Dimitri," I said.

He walked backwards and sat down in the chair. I looked back at the TV to see that they were replaying what Edelgard has said.

"I've gotten my ass out of jail because I have done my time! Those damn idiots! Commander Blyeth and Dimitri. Not to mention his little secretary that is always with him! They're all going to pay in blood! Watch you back, Dimitri. I will be coming for what you love most."

"I-It can't be," I said.

Xander looked over at us. A bit of time has passed and Xander was finally closing out his last year of high school. Every year as he grew older, the more he looked like a younger version of Dimitri.

"S-She's going to slaughter us all," Dimitri whispered.

"What are we going to do?"

"I don't know, but-" Dimitri was interrupted by a pound on the door.

I got up and walked over to it. I opened it up to see there were interviewers trying to make their way through. Xander got up and helped me push the door close. He had his father's strength as well.

"You ok, mom?" Xander asked.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine."

Dimitri shook his head, "What am I to do, Y/N?"

"Knowing Edelgard, she is going to hold her word. Be prepared for anything."

"I will be more than willing to help, father," Xander said.

Dimitri rose from the chair and looked at his son. "No. If Edelgard were to defeat us, someone needs to run over the capital."

"But if she gets hold of the capital, that means I won't be able to run it."

"That is why we must stop her from getting here! This time, a civil discussion will not work in our favor."

After a week of Edelgard's decree, nothing has happened. But it all came out of the blue. Dimitri was sitting in his office when he heard sirens. He turned on the news to see that the Blue Lions Company was attacked by Adrestian drones and military personnel. They snuck in under the radar and spied on where the weak points of the building were and sent the information back to Edelgard. They caused the top half of the building to collapse, killing over a hundred workers who were in the top half. They were trying to interview Dedue, but he refused to even speak with news reporters. That was when everyone was trying to ask Dimitri questions.
