Hey there Jitterbugs, Sorry that this chapter has been long overdue. With life things are crazy. Full-time college and job are no joke. Especially in these trying times, I am just glad that I can work. I hope that everyone is doing well, and you all and your loved ones are staying safe. This story means the world to me, and I promise that I will have in done. I had planned to have it done by my birthday April 19th, but that does not seem like a possibility (with losing 2 weeks of college plus our spring break) my classes have once again become swamped, and work is not letting up either. I know I asked a few days ago whether I should edit this or not before uploading, and the answer was don't worry about it. So here it is, in all its raw, unedited glory. Sorry, this is so long. Know that I miss you all terribly and wish I was a better writer, but life is so hard right now. I will try to get the remaining chapters done before the end of May.

Thanks for all your loyalty,

Inclining his head back, Athiss thought about all the emotions that were relentlessly running through his head as if on repeat. Slowly counting in his head once he reached 352, he heard laughter that interrupted his train of thought. He knew that Vaughn and Vyida would come back at some point, but honestly; he hoped for later. Not because he could not stand them, but because of how he was feeling. While they were gone, the only thing that he thought of was running away. He knew that was bad, however, he could not help it.

This was not supposed to happen.

She was in no way supposed to realize that he was her father. Although he knew that eventually, it would have to be known he was her father, he had hoped that it was later when she was all grown. It was not like he slept with her mother; they had an agreement- besides the last thing he wanted was kids. He knew that he would not be a good father, not with how wishy-washy he was when it came to his and Vaughn and their relationship. Besides, his parents showed him just how useless he would be to a child. However, this little girl had nothing to do with his ex, it had everything to do with a promise that he had kept. He just hoped that she was not getting any wacky ideas about him. He still only wanted to be Uncle A. Nothing more, nothing less. Shaking his head of the thoughts he was having, the only thing that he cared about was that Vyida could enjoy her last moments with Cheryl.

She deserved that.

Taking a deep breath of air, he thought about how people always told him that having a child was the pinnacle of one's life. However, he would have to disagree with that he felt like the pinnacle of one's life is not the kids that they leave behind but the legacy that is left behind from the life that the person lived., Honestly, when he died the one thing he wanted people to think of him as was a caring and loving man, if he accomplishes that- then nothing else matters.

Slowly bringing his head forward Athiss was about to stand up when his eyes landed on the duo. But he could tell that if he got up now Vaughn would have something to say about it. So, he stayed put pulling out his cell phone. He knew that he needed to get back to the hospital he has been gone way too long, thanks to his grandfather.

Rapidly swallowing he read the text that just came through
"When are you coming back? The patients are asking for you?"

Smiling down at his phone he quickly replied, "Soon, there is just a bit of family business that I have to take care of first."

Not even a second later there was a response, "Oh no, I hope everything is fine.

Looking up from his phone for a moment before he swiftly looked back down as he replied, "Do you know if Doctor Zeltur, is back from vacation yet? I need to ask her something." Before swiftly placing his phone back in his pocket. He knew that there was nothing he would not do for his best friend. He loved her, and when you loved someone you fight for them even when they do not want to fight.
