Vaughn swiftly made his way from the room that Athiss and his grandfather were in. He knew that he was blowing all of this out of proportion, but he couldn't help it.

His heart felt like it was beating out of his chest.

Honestly, he couldn't believe his ears, and his emotions seemed to be going haywire, bouncing around from one emotion to the next with no time to process. He felt like he was a fuel induced bouncy ball.

However, he knew that the way that he ran off or rather yet walked away fast wasn't the best way to deal with what he had heard. Especially since Athiss had called after him.

Taking a deep breath, he knew that even though it wasn't everyday that you overhear that the man you are fighting for, married to, and loved could possibly be the father of the baby that you were told was yours.

It wasn't as if it would be a horrible thing.

He just didn't want to think about Laylia having any stake on Athiss. Part of him knew that the claim that Athiss was the father was a bogus claim, but another part of him wondered.

After all he knew that Ezekiel told laylia about the sperm bank. And if she had found out how to get the sperm she desired, there was nothing that would stop her from making Athiss life a living hell. That was something that he couldn't allow.

Athiss was too sweet for that to happen to.

Slowly flicking his tongue out Vaughn let out a strangled breath of air as he whispered: "He just can't be, he just can't be, he just can't be." As the last "he just can't be", escaped his lips Vaughn feared all the thoughts and wondering that he now found himself doing. For the simple fact he knew just how manipulative Laylia could be.

However, if this was true what could her motives possibly be to force this to happen? To play games with them repeatedly.

Stepping into the kitchen Vaughn took a deep breath of air noticing for the first time just how big the kitchen and dining room was. As he went to take a step into the kitchen with the children in tow, a man walked over to him and spoke: "Sir, would you like some breakfast?"

Shaking his head slowly Vaughn was about to respond when he heard: "No, he and I won't having breakfast here this morning we- ". Quickly whipping his head to the side so that his eyes locked on with the man standing in the doorway Vaughn swallowed hard as he interrupted: "I need to make sure the kids are fed first besides whatever you want to talk about surely can wait, can't it, now?"

Quickly bringing his bottom lip into his mouth Vaughn gnawed on the tender flesh as his eyes watched Athiss crossing his arms before whispering: "As you wish Mr. Kalil."

Vaughn watched steadily as Athiss turned and left the room. The moment the man was out of sight Vaughn had regretted the words that he had said, and the harshness in the way that they were said.

He knew that he was a jerk.

Honestly, he knew that this wasn't Athiss fault. Yet he couldn't seem to differentiate what he knew and how he felt about the matter.
