Jessica's P.O.V.

Elena and Stefan broke up. Yup that's right, somewhere in between Sean dying, Caroline roping me into helping with Miss Mystic Falls, and Jeremy have nightmares about killing Elena, Stefan broke up with Elena because she has feelings for Damon. Nobody has told Damon yet, but I can't help but admit that I'm slightly nervous that he might leave me for her. I shake off these thoughts and get back to my task of helping Caroline set up the pageant.

Caroline, who volunteered both of us, is currently on the phone with Stefan, who, despite breaking up with Elena, is taking it far harder than she is. Caroline is absolutely affronted when Stefan has the nerve to tell her he wasn't coming to Miss Mystic, note the sarcasm. Caroline hangs up as Elena approaches us.

"Look, I'm your best friend and I would never pick sides, but are you sure that this is what you want? Because Stefan is your soul mate," Caroline claims as we arrange the flowers on the table because the florist did a horrendous job. "Right, picking sides," Caroline concedes after Elena shot her a look.

"I don't know, maybe I'm slightly biased, but I personally think that you shouldn't pursue Damon," I growl and they both looked at me shocked, and I take a deep breath. "I'm sorry, ever since Sean, it's like my emotions are haywire and finding out that my sister broke up with her boyfriend over feelings she has for mine, isn't exactly helping," I explain and Elena looks at me brokenly.

"I'm sorry, Jess, I never meant to fall for him. I'll back off, I swear," she promises and I sigh, placing my hands on her shoulders.

"Elena, if it comes down to it and Damon has to make a choice and that choice is you, I won't blame either of you or be angry. I love you both so much. All I want is for you both to be happy. Even if it means that Damon isn't with me," I respond before heading to the front of the house. I hear Caroline mumble something like 'even if she's miserable, she means' but I shake it off.

Caroline and Elena follow me through the house and we run into Shane, who looks me over in interest, making me refrain from vomiting. He says he's going to be a judge, worrying all three of us, before Care and I make our way outside. I see some of the flower delivery people carrying the wrong arrangement out back. "Hey, wrong way. Didn't Caroline make you a chart to look at?" I demand.

"Yes, and they had plenty of time to memorize it," she snarks, frustrated.

"Well, they don't have to memorize it if they simply looked at it," I answer loudly and they head back to the truck, hopefully, to look at the chart.

"Now, how did I know I'd find you at the helm of the ship?" Klaus jokes, walking up to us, trying to catch my eye.

"Go away, clearly we're doing things. The florist can't even comprehend a floral chart and I have to deal with professor Creepy checking me out every time we're in the same room and I can only deal with so many skin crawling looks in a day. You push me over the line," I sneer, still angry and not trusting that he will leave Jeremy alone.

"I was wondering what time I should pick you up tomorrow," he informs me and I glare.

"You can't. I already have a date," I sneer and he frowns.

"I was promised a date in return for one of my hybrids," he argues and I smirk at him.

"You were promised a date by Caroline, I didn't agree to shit. Have fun you two." I send them a small wave before walking away, only to receive a text from Damon, who felt the need to tell me that Shane is suspicious. I roll my eyes, not bothering with a reply, and head upstairs to make sure everything is okay with the girls.

Elena and Care soon join me upstairs as April is having a dilemma over which dress to wear. "Blue," Caroline and Elena agree and I shake my head.

"I like the red," I disagree and they both shoot me a look.
