Chapter 16

Candice's Pov

"Can we talk?"dinig kong tinig ni Haryth.

"Kailangan pa ba yun?"pabalik kong tanong saka hinarap siya.

"Yeah"sagot naman niya.

"What if I don't?"walang emosyon kong tanong saka naman siya napabuntong hininga.

"Wala kong magagawa"sabi niya sabay ngumiti ng pilit.

Paalis na sana siya ng pigilan ko. "Let's talk"

"Come"sabi niya saka nagsimulang maglakad. Sumunod naman ako hanggang sa tabi ng dagat. "Hindi ko alam kung pano to sisimulan. Just listen and don't talk"sabi niya habang nakatingin sa akin. Pinagkrus ko naman ang braso ko. "Do you still remember when I started dating you?"tanong niya at nanatili lang akong hindi umimik. "I promised at that time that I would not leave you and hurt you"

"But you did"sabat kong sabi.

"Sorry" sabi niya saka humarap sakin. "When I first saw you, I know that you're the one. I'm scared you won't accept me coz I've known as a playboy. I changed myself and broke up with all my girlfriends and be contented of what I have ... and that is you" sabi niya saka tumahik ng ilang segundo bago magsalita uli. "Remember Leanne, my ex?"tanong niya at tumango ako. Sino ba namang makakalimot sa pagmumukha nun. "She's the reason why I left here in the Philippines"

Seryoso lang siyang nakatingin habang nagsasalita. "I realize that maybe it was 'karma'. I want to die that time because of what I found out and you might hate me . 2 days before our monthsary, Leanne wants to meet me"

Leanne is one of the obssessed girlfriend of Haryth. "And you agreed?" tanong ko saka naman siya tumango.

"Because she said she would stay away from me after we talked"sabi niya at hindi naman ako umimik. "When we meet, she said that she's pregnant and I'm the father. I emmediately believe her coz a few times something happened to us "dagdag pa niya habang nanginginig ako sa galit dahil sa mga nalaman ko.

"B-buti alam mo"sabi ko na lang.

"Ilang beses ko ring pinag-isipan kung ikaw ba o siya ang pipiliin ko"

"You choose her over me?"

"It's not like that" kaagad niyang sabi. "Pwede ko namang sustentuhan ang bata pero nalaman ng magulang ko at hindi sila pumayag na maging ganun. What will others say and they said that the best solution is to send us to America and get married"

Tumango naman ako saka nagsalita. "How about when I saw you two in your condo?"

"We decided to have a drink and I don't know what happened next. "sagot niya. "I'm sorry of what I've said that time. I don't know what to tell you anymore and you might just not believe me. I try to talk to you but I can't find you until the day of our flight to America " napabuntong hininga siya bago nagpatuloy. "After 1 month, I found out that Leanne is lying. She's not pregnant . I was about to go home here when my friend told me that you're already have a boyfriend " . Napatingin naman ako sa kaniya na may pagtataka. "He doesn't know the guy. So, I decided to stay in America until I gradute.

Lumapit siya sa akin sabay hinawakan ang dalawa kong kamay.  "Still you Candice. I still l-love you" malungkot na sabi niya.
