I quickly turned away and looked from outside the window, praying for the bus to finally arrive at my destination. I feel so embarrassed that he caught me looking at him, I wished the ground would swallow me whole.
Did he notice me checking him out? ugh, way to go New.
Alas, the bus reached my destination. I hurriedly walked out of the vehicle, not paying any attention to the boy behind me or even the vehicle. When it started moving, I let out a sigh and continued my commute. I looked at my wristwatch and checked the time.
7:40
I had a few more minutes before class starts, so I got off two blocks from my school and headed to a café to buy myself a drink.
"One milkshake please" , I said to the cashier. She gave me a confused look and continued pressing buttons in her monitor. Is it that weird to order milkshake in the morning?
"That would be 80 baht sir."
I fished my wallet out of my pocket and felt nothing. I checked the other pocket, still nothing. I gave the cashier an awkward smile and rummaged through my belongings, mumbling a prayer wishing to find my wallet. While I was busy finding it, an arm extended above my head.
"I'm sorry sir I-"
And there he stood. The guy I who exchanged glances with on the bus. He gave the cashier some money and took care of my bill. Again, I felt so embarrassed that all I could do was bite my lip.
"I'm sorry you had to pay for my drink, I'll be sure to--"
"You're taking way too long so I paid it myself. You wear the same uniform as me so you can just pay me at school." , he said without letting me finish my sentence. He threw me a cold look, as if waiting for me to say anything.
"o-okay, i'll pay you." , I said in a shy manner. Just as I finished talking, a server came and handed me my drink. I grabbed the drink as quick as I can and left the store fast.
What a way to start my last year in high school.
