AMELIAS POV
It was the weekend and all I wanted to do was stay inside in my bed. I'm starting to pull away from Owen and it's dumb. It's destructive. But I don't know what else to do, I'm protecting my heart. I can't get broken again like I did after James left me.
"Amelia!" My mom called.
"What?" I complained.
"Someone's here for you," my mom said.
"Who?" I called.
"Just come downstairs," she yelled. I got up out of my bed and I was wearing yesterday's clothes and I walked downstairs to see Jackson, Owen, and Callie at the door.
"Uh hi," I said.
"We were going to go swimming at the lake, wanted to know if you wanted to come," Jackson said.
"Uh, sure," I smiled and let them in. I ran upstairs and changed and came back downstairs and told my mom we were heading to the lake.
"Where's April?" I chuckled.
"She has a church lunch in this morning," Callie said.
"Ah," I said. Callie and Jackson were walking ahead of Owen and I and Owen turned to me.
"You've been a little M.I.A. The last day or so," He chuckled, "you good?"
"Yeah uh I was dealing with something," I said quietly.
"Okay," Owen said. The last time I really talked to him was when we watched the stars Friday night. We were both quiet for a minute and we got to the trail which Callie and Jackson started already.
"Watch out for the bugs," Owen joked.
"Shut up," I chuckled. I was walking and I felt his hand brush up against mine. I suddenly got super nervous around him, I was always so comfortable around him.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Owen asked.
"Yeah," I nodded, "I'm okay."
"Okay," Owen said. We got to the lake and Jackson and Callie jumped in. Owen took his shirt off and I couldn't help but notice how cute he looked. I pulled my hair into a bun and Owen grabbed my waist and picked me up.
"Owen!" I said.
"You were taking too long we're going in," he chuckled.
"Owen!" I laughed as he lifted me up over his shoulder, "you're going to drop me!"
"I am not," He chuckled. We got into the water and he threw me in. Lucky for me I grabbed his hand and pulled him down with me. We both chuckled as we came back up to the surface.
"I hate you," I chuckled.
"I hate you too," he chuckled. He shoved me and I shoved him back.
JACKSONS POV
Owen is falling for Amelia so much it's unreal at this point. I was in the water with Callie and we watched Owen throw Amelia into the water and she miraculously brought him down with her. I think she was falling for him too.
"Do you think she likes him?" Callie said.
"It looks like it," I chuckled, "he so likes her."
"Yeah I agree," Callie said, "she definitely has a fat crush on him too."
"Wow is our little Owen growing up," I chuckled, "finally getting a girlfriend?"
"Could be," she said, "I mean he has dated a little."
"He's gone on first dates and dipped," I chuckled.
"True," Callie said.
"What about Amelia?" I said.
"What about her?" Callie questioned.
"What if she has someone back in LA," I said.
"Even if she does, she is falling for him," Callie chuckled.
OWENS POV
We were all swimming in the lake which was nice, and super relaxing.
"Amelia!" Callie called.
"Yeah?" Amelia said.
"Jump off this rock with me," Callie said.
"Okay!" Amelia said. I watched them climb the rocks and jump off.
"You're gonna have to hide it a little better if you don't want us to know you like her," Jackson chuckled.
"I don't like Amelia like that," I chuckled.
"Are you joking?" Jackson said, "I haven't seen you so happy."
-
We were walking back from the lake back to my house.
"Owen can I use your shower," Jackson said.
"Me too," Callie said.
"Yeah sure," I chuckled.
"Me three?" Amelia said cutely.
"Sure," I said. Amelia looked like she was super cold.
"Do you want my towel?" I said.
"No I'm okay," she said.
"Too bad," I said and wrapped my towel around her anyway and she smiled.
"Thanks," she smiled. We stopped walking for a minute and I smiled at her.
"Owen," Amelia said softly.
"Yeah?" I said.
"You're staring," she chuckled and hit my cheek lightly. I chuckled and we kept walking to keep up with Jackson and Callie. We got back to my house and Jackson was showering.
"I'm gonna run back to my house and grab some clothes," Amelia said.
"Don't be ridiculous you can just wear something of mine," I made a move and tossed her one of my shirts.
"Thanks," she smiled, "can I use the shower downstairs?"
"Sure," I said. She left and Callie chuckled.
"That was smooth Hunt," Callie said.
"What?" I said.
"You can wear something of mine? You know what you're doing!" She laughed.
"Is it working?" I chuckled.
"Oh it's definitely working, she is SO into you," Callie said.
CAROLYNS POV
Today Amelia went to the lake with Owen, Jackson, and Callie. I was glad she had friends. She freaked out a few nights ago over Owen, that's what Derek told me. I can tell she really cares about him, and that scares her. Getting attached scares her. It was almost dinner time and I heard the front door open. I peeked out of the kitchen and it was Amelia.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," she said. I noticed the shirt she was wearing wasn't hers, and it definitely wasn't Callie's.
"Nice shirt," I said.
"Oh uh, yeah, it's uh, it's Owens," she said.
"Okay," I chuckled, "how was the lake?"
"It was good," she said.
"That's good," I said.
"Yeah," she said.
"Isn't there a fifth person in your group?" I said, "the peppy one? Did you scare her off."
"Shut up, she had a church thing," Amelia said.
"Okay," I said. She looked really happy, and Owen's shirt looked cute on her. I was just praying she didn't run, she was so a runner, and she can't run this time.
