1 month later
AMELIAS POV
I was going home today. I was scared as hell. I was here for about a month and a half. I would start school next week. I was so scared. I gained most of my weight back, I mean I was still really skinny, I was about 110. Sheldon told me I still had to do therapy with him for a while which I didn't mind, I kinda liked it. I was in the bathroom changing out of my hospital gown and pulled my hair into a bun. I opened the door and my mom was sitting on my bed.
"You ready?" My mom asked.
"I'm scared," I said.
"You'll be okay," My mom said and hugged me.
"Yeah," I said. Derek and Liz came in and hugged me too.
"Yay exciting you're coming home" Liz smiled and hugged me again.
"Yeah," I said. My mom had already signed my discharge papers so I was good to go. We started leaving and I dropped back and talked to Derek.
"So we haven't talked in a while," I said.
"We haven't," he said.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"It's not your fault," he said.
"I guess I just figured I didn't want to disappoint you, so if we never talked about it, it wasn't there," I said.
"I'm not disappointed in you," he said, "I will never be disappointed in you."
"Okay," I nodded, "So we're okay?"
"We're okay Amy," he said.
"Okay," I said.
"Owen didn't go to school today so he could spend the whole day with you," Derek said.
"Really," I smiled.
"Yup," Derek said, "he's waiting for you." I couldn't help but smile.
"He's good for you," Derek said, "I like him."
"Well me too," I joked.
"Shut up," he chuckled, "I'm serious."
"Me too," I said.
"I've missed you," he said and hugged me.
"I've missed you too," I said.
"Are you going back to school?" Derek asked. I shrugged.
"I don't know," I said.
"You should," Derek said.
"Should I?" I said as we were walking in the parking lot.
"Yes," Derek said.
"Okay," I nodded. We got in the car and I sat down next to Liz and we were all quiet. I looked at my phone and texted Owen.
"Hi," I sent.
"Hi," Owen sent.
"I'm on my way home," I sent.
"I know, I'm excited to see you," he sent, which made me smile. We pulled in my driveway and I saw Owen outside. He smiled as I got out and hugged me.
"I love you," he said in my ear.
"I love you too," I smiled and kissed him.
CAROLYNS POV
It was so good to have Amelia back home, and she's doing a lot better, especially with her medication, she's gained most of her appetite back which was really good. We were all eating lunch in the living room and she was sitting next to Owen. They were so cute, Owen was perfect for her. They loved each other so much, I've never seen her care about someone the way she cares about him, and she was eating lunch which was good.
"Hey mom?" Amelia said.
"Yeah?" I said.
"Can Owen and I go for a walk?" Amelia asked.
"Sure," I nodded. I didn't really want to leave her out of my sight but I trusted Owen so much, and so knew he wouldn't let anything happen to her, and I couldn't be a helicopter parent and follow her everywhere because that would drive her crazy, and it would drive me crazy as well.
OWENS POV
Amelia and I were walking down to the lake and she was so cute. It was so good to see her happy. She grabbed my hand and pulled me close to her on the pathway.
"Hi," she giggled.
"Hi," I smiled. She leaned up and kissed me and I wrapped my arms around her waist as we started making out. She wrapped her arms around my neck and smiled.
"I missed this," she said softly as we were still holding each other.
"Me too," I said. She pecked my lips again and we continued walking.
"Should I go back to school?" She asked, we still had a solid 3 months left.
"Yes," I said.
"But I'll start next week," she chuckled, "no use if there's only 2 days left." I chuckled and she smiled.
"True," I said.
"I feel like everyone knows," she sighed. I put my arm around her and she leaned into me and we got to the water.
"Who cares? All that matters is that your better," I said.
"Yeah," she nodded, "you're right."
"Plus you'll see me everyday at lunch, and all our friends," I said.
"Yeah," she said.
"Think about it," I said.
"My mom said I could just do online for the rest of the year but I don't know," she shrugged, "it's kinda boring."
"Is it?" I said.
"Yeah, I can finish my whole day in 2 hours and then I'm just bored," She said, "and then Sheldon would come in with all his group therapy and therapy activities so I had to act busy." I laughed and she smiled.
"I'll miss him," she said, "he was good to talk to."
"Don't you have to still do therapy?" I asked. She nodded.
"Yeah just not as frequent," She said.
"That's good," I said.
"Yeah," she said. She moved closer to me and wrapped her arms around my waist and I wrapped my arms around her.
"I love you Owen," she said.
"I love you too Amelia," I said and held her close to me as we looked at the view of the pond. I kissed her head and I was so thankful she was okay and doing better.
