JACKSONS POV
The first dance of the year was coming up, and April, Callie, and I decided that Owen is asking Amelia to it. I was walking with Owen to spanish class and decided to bring it up.
"So you know the first dance is coming up," I said.
"Yeah," he said.
"You thinking of taking anyone?" I asked.
"No," he said.
"Why not?" I said, "what about Amelia?"
"What about her?" He chuckled.
"Well I think you should ask her," I said.
"She probably doesn't even want to go," he said.
"She would definitely go with you if you asked," I said.
"I'll think about it," he mumbled. He was in such denial that he liked her, and we all knew Amelia likes him too. I think we all knew it before they knew it.
OWENS POV
Jackson kept nagging me about asking Amelia to the dance. I wanted to don't get me wrong, but what if she didn't like me, I mean she just moved here like 3 weeks ago what if she still has someone in LA. What if she doesn't even like me? I sat down next to her at lunch and she looked up from her sandwich.
"Hi," she smiled.
"Hi," I said.
"Amelia I need a favor," April said.
"What?" Amelia said.
"Can you convince your brother to ask me to the dance?" She said.
"No," Amelia chuckled.
"Oh what about Mark they're like besties now!" Callie said.
"I don't talk to Mark," Amelia chuckled.
"Oh come on please?" April begged.
"I'll mention it," Amelia chuckled, "no promises."
"So Amelia are you going to the dance?" Jackson said.
"Oh uh, I don't know," Amelia said.
"Owen were taking a walk get up," Callie said.
"Dude I'm eating," I chuckled.
"Eat and walk lets go," Callie said.
"What?" I said and got up and walked with her into the hallway.
"You are asking her to that dance!" Callie said.
"Can everyone get off my case," I chuckled.
"No! She obviously really likes you and you really like her, you are not ruining this for yourself!" Callie said.
"You think she likes me?" I said.
"Are you blind!" She chuckled and walked back into the cafeteria. I followed her back into the cafeteria and sat down next to Amelia.
"You okay?" She asked.
"Yeah," I said.
"Okay," she nodded.
-
I saw Amelia at her locker while I was walking out of school. I stopped by her locker and she smiled at me.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," I said.
"I have to take the bus today because Derek is staying after for something," she said and started walking with me.
"Okay," I smiled, which gave me an opportunity to ask her to the dance. We got on the bus and I sat down next to her. My mind was racing I needed to find the right thing to say. We got to our stop and we both got out and started walking together.
"Are you thinking about going to the dance?" I asked. She shrugged.
"I don't know," she said, "it's not really my thing."
"It's not really my thing either," I said.
"Liar," she chuckled.
"No really it's not," I said.
"Okay," she said.
"Maybe it could not be our thing together, if you wanted to go together," I said.
"Are you asking me to go to the dance with you?" She smiled.
"Uh, yeah I am," I smiled.
"Then yes, it can not be our thing together," she smiled.
"Perfect," I smiled.
"Do you want to hangout today?" She asked, she seemed a little nervous to ask which was so cute.
"I have a little bit of homework but after we can," I said.
"Okay," she said.
"And maybe you can do your homework instead of doing it at lunch," I joked.
"Shut up," she said.
CAROLYNS POV
I saw Amelia walking with Owen and they were so cute. He makes her so happy, but she's too damaged to see that. The front door opened and she was all smiley and bubbly, it was cute.
"Good day?" I asked.
"Yeah," she said, "oh and we have to go dress
shopping."
"For what?" I said.
"School dance," she said, "it's in 2 weeks."
"Didn't know you enjoy school dances," I joked.
"I don't but, Owen asked me to go with him," she smiled.
"That's good," I said.
"Yeah it is," she said, "I might hangout with him in a little while."
"Okay," I said. I could tell she felt nervous about the whole Owen thing, he made her open up, he made her vulnerable, and that scared the hell out of her.
AMELIAS POV
I walked upstairs and opened Derek's door.
"I need a favor," I said.
"Okay," he said.
"You know the peppy redhead I'm friends with?" I said.
"April," he said.
"Yes, she thinks you're cute, and can you just follow her on Instagram or something so that she stops talking about you, just notice her for like five seconds," I chuckled. He grabbed his phone and looked up at me.
"Alright, friend request sent," he said.
"Thank you," I said.
"You're not setting us up right?" He chuckled.
"No," I said, "well, I told her I'd try, but I don't want to."
"Smart," he said. I walked down the hall and Liz opened her door.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," I said.
"You're all smiley, it's weird," she said, "OMG did Owen kiss you?"
"What? No," I said.
"Something happened," she said, "you're usually angry."
"He asked me to the dance," I shrugged and kept walking.
"Amelia!" She smiled.
"I'm reverting back to angry," I chuckled and closed my door. I opened my bag and did my math homework so I wouldn't have to do it at lunch, then I outlined a chapter of science, and worked on my history paper. I felt my phone buzz and it was Owen.
"Window," it read. I walked over to my window and opened it.
"Hi," I said.
"Hey," he said, "you ready?"
"Yeah," I said. I walked downstairs and grabbed a jacket and told my mom I was going over. He met me in my driveway and I smiled.
"So what are we up to?" I chuckled.
"We could get ice cream," he said.
"Okay," I said.
"It's not that far of a walk it's close," he said.
"Okay," I said and walked next to him on the sidewalk.
"Did you finish your homework?" I asked.
"Yes," he said, "did you?"
"Yes," I said.
"Shocker," he chuckled.
"I told Derek to follow April on Instagram so she can get out of my hair," I laughed. He laughed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"That's funny," he said.
"Yeah," I said.
"I'm gonna tell you something but you can't tell anyone," he said.
"Okay," I said.
"Jackson likes April," he said.
"Really? I would have never guessed," I said.
"He's good at hiding it," he chuckled.
"Yeah guess so," I laughed.
"Yeah," he said.
"Is he going to ask her to the dance?" I asked.
"No," he said.
"He should so she can stop being in love with my brother," I chuckled.
"Yeah," he chuckled.
OWENS POV
We were sitting in downtown eating ice cream together. She was so cute. We were sitting on a park bench together.
"Have you been down here before?" I asked.
"Nope," she said, "First time for everything."
"Yeah," I said.
"You come here a lot?" She asked.
"Sometimes my mom, Megan, and I grab dinner from some of the local places sometimes, not that much," I said.
"Well I'm glad my first time down here was with you," she smiled, and I'd be lying if I said that didn't make my heart skip a beat.
