AMELIAS POV
"I'm sorry for arguing with you," I said as I hugged my mom.
"It's okay," my mom said and hugged me back. Evelyn and Owen left as we continued to talk.
"Are you okay what happened?" My mom asked.
"I just, I got upset today," I said.
"That's okay," my mom said softly, "I'm just glad you're okay."
"I miss you," I said.
"I miss you too," she said and kissed my head.
"Can I come back home?" I asked. She nodded.
"You can always come back Amelia," She said, "you know that." I smiled and I could feel myself crying.
"I just want to be normal again," I said, my voice shaking.
"Honey you don't need to be normal I promise," my mom said and hugged me, "look at all this work you've put in, look how healthy you are now, screw normal."
"Why can't I be happy all the time like everyone else," I cried.
"Nobody is happy all the time, it's okay to get upset, especially considering everything you've been through," she said, "it's okay to be sad sometimes Amelia."
"Okay," I said quietly.
"Do you want to come home?" She asked. I nodded and she kissed my head.
"Okay," she said.
"I want to talk to Owen for a few minutes is that okay?" I asked.
"Of course it's okay, I'll give you two a minute," She said.
"Thanks," I said. She left and Owen came in.
"Hey," Owen said and wrapped his arms around me.
"Thank you for letting me stay here for a few days, I really appreciate it," I said.
"Of course, you're welcome anytime," he said, "are you going home with your mom?"
"Yeah," I nodded and kissed his cheek and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and let him hold me for a while.
"Will I see you in school tomorrow?" He asked. I nodded.
"Yeah," I said.
"Okay," he said, "I'll talk to you later?"
"Of course," I said and kissed his cheek, "I love you."
"I love you too," he said and pecked my lips. I grabbed my backpack and walked downstairs where my mom and Evelyn were.
"Thank you for letting me stay here," I said to Evelyn as she hugged me.
"Of course. You know you're always welcome okay honey?" She said.
"Thank you," I said. I walked back over to my house with my mom and dropped my bag in the hallway.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" She asked. I could feel tears starting to form in my eyes as I thought of Ryan.
"No," I said crying.
"Okay," she said and wrapped her arms around me, "whatever it is, I love you, and you'll be alright okay?"
"Okay," I said. I wiped my eyes and walked upstairs. I heard a door open and it was Derek.
"Hey you're home," he said.
"Yeah," I said.
"You okay?" He asked. I nodded.
"Yeah," I said, "Just a tough day."
"You want to talk?" He offered.
"Sure," I said and walked into his room.
"Is it something with Owen?" He asked.
"No," I said.
"So you two are good?" He said.
"Yeah, were good," I said.
"That's good," he said, "I like him for you."
"I just freaked out today," I said.
"How so?" He said as we sat down on his bed.
"It's really dumb," I said.
"It's not dumb Amy," he said.
"Someone took Ryan's desk today," I said, "I don't know, it just shook me."
"I'm sorry," Derek frowned.
"It's okay," I said. He put his arm around me and we both sat there quietly.
"I wish dad was here," I said.
"Me too," he said.
"He would be so much easier than talking to mom," I chuckled.
"Moms kinda naggy," he chuckled.
"I agree," I said, "and I feel bad when I talk to her."
"Why?" He said.
"I just feel bad that I have to tell her how shitty I'm feeling all the time, because it makes her feel bad," I said, "it would be easier to talk to dad."
"Yeah," he said, "Mom's all emotions and feelings all the time."
"Yeah," I said.
"So how's Owen?" He said.
"He's good," I said, "really good."
"You know you're spending a lot of time over there," he chuckled.
"Okay and?" I said.
"Well I know mom is too scared to say anything but, whatever you are and aren't doing, so it safely," he chuckled.
"Shut up," I laughed and hit him with his pillow, "we aren't doing anything."
"Really?" He chuckled.
"You thought I was?" I laughed.
"Well I don't know," he laughed.
"Ew you're gross," I chuckled and nudged him.
"Ew you're gross," he mocked. I chuckled and leaned into him and he hugged me.
"You are so strong, you're going to be okay," He said.
