AMELIAS POV
Today was the day. He was leaving. I ran this thought through my mind maybe a million times, but it never felt real, until now. We were both sitting on his bed silent. I helped him pack last night. He sent most of his stuff a week ago in a moving truck since you can't take a lot of stuff on the plane. Neither one of us had said anything this morning. He was leaving. I looked at him and he looked at me.
"Hey," he said softly, breaking the silence.
"Hey," I said.
"Today's the day," he said.
"Yeah," I smiled.
"We'll be okay, right?" He said.
"You sound like me," I chuckled lightly.
"I'm so in love with you," he said and kissed me.
"I'm so in love with you too," I said. We both got up and got dressed to go to the airport.
"I'm going to miss you," I said quietly.
"I'm going to miss you too Amelia," he said.
"Make me proud okay?" I said, choking up.
"I will okay? And hopefully in a year I'll see you there okay?" He said.
"Mhm," I said as I could feel tears falling down my face.
"If you cry that'll make my cry," he said as his voice broke. He pulled me into a hug and we both stood there for a few minutes silently.
"We'll be okay," he said.
"Yeah," I said. He cupped my face in his hands and looked down at me.
"I love you so much," he said, "and I'll be back for thanksgiving."
"That's in November," I said softly.
"I know," he said, "but I'll call you every night. I promise."
"And I'll answer every night," I said.
"Make me proud here too okay?" He said. I nodded as a tear escaped my eye.
"Okay," I said.
"I know you will," he said. I looked up at him and wiped his tears away.
"And I'll see you in November," I said.
"Yup," he said.
"Owen! We have to get going!" Evelyn said.
"Okay," Owen said. I bit my lip to stop myself from absolutely breaking down. Owen pulled me into a hug and we both started crying. He rubbed my back and I sobbed into his chest.
"I love you so much," he said crying.
"I love you too," I said and wiped my eyes.
"I'll be home before you know it," he said. I nodded and we both wiped our eyes and blew our noses. We walked downstairs and Evelyn hugged both of us. We got in the car and the ride was silent. I held Owen's hand the whole time. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I was so happy for him, living his dreams, I so was, but I was going to miss him so much. He was going to be so far.
CAROLYNS POV
Owen was leaving for Harvard today. I'm worried what it'll do with Amelia. She's practically spent every day with him since freshmen year. I'm worried it's going to break her. I know she's really happy for him and proud of him, but she's so worried about their relationship, and I don't blame her. Harvard is really far. I'm just worried this will break her. Derek and Liz come home next week from college so hopefully seeing her siblings will cheer her up, but I don't know. I'm just so worried she's going to fall down a hole without him here.
OWENS POV
It was time for me to go to my gate. I had to leave my family. I've run this through my head so much, and never did I think it would feel like this. I hugged my mom and she started crying.
"Be safe okay?" She said, "make sure you text me when you get on the plane, when you land, and when you're heading to campus okay?"
"I will don't worry," I said.
"Have fun, be safe, and make us all proud okay? Because I'm so proud of you, I know you'll do awesome," my mom smiled and hugged me.
"I will, don't worry," I said.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you too," I said. I walked over to Megan and she hugged me.
"Go prove time me that you're actually smart alright?" She said.
"Yeah yeah okay," I laughed.
"Love you," she said.
"Love you too," I said, "I'm giving you time to bond with mom."
"Yeah, and I hate you for it," she laughed and hugged me again. I laughed and hugged her tight. I got to Amelia next and I looked at her and she smiled.
"I love you," we said at the same time which caused us both to laugh. I wrapped her in a tight hug and kissed her head.
"Remember that I want it all with you, only you. I only want you, and that's all I'll ever want. I want a life with you, we'll make this work okay? It'll be okay alright. We've got this. Kill it back at home in Seattle okay?" I looked at her and a few tears fell down her face.
"Make sure to kill it at Harvard too," she said sweetly, "make us proud okay? Not that you can make me more proud because I am already so proud of you, but kill it okay?"
"Okay," I smiled.
"You're going to do amazing things," she smiled and kissed me.
"So are you," I said. "I love you Amelia Shepherd."
"I love you too Owen Hunt," she said. I kissed her passionately and wrapped my arms around her, never wanting to let go.
AMELIAS POV
I unlocked the door to my house and my mom was sitting on the couch.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," I said.
"You okay?" She said.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Come sit," she said. I walked over and sat down next to her and she put her arm around me.
"You two will be okay," she said.
"I hope so," I said.
"You will," she said.
"What if I don't get into Harvard?" I said, applications went live the first week in September, I would know by November.
"I'm sure you will honey," she said.
"But it's Harvard, if I don't get in that ruins our whole plan," I said, "I have to go there, Owen's there, Dad went there, I need to go there."
"Why don't we just relax and worry about it in November okay?" She said.
"Okay," I said.
"And if you don't get in, Owen will still love you," she said.
