AMELIAS POV
Today Owen finds out if he got into Harvard. I'm excited for him, but I'm also so scared. I have such a knot in my stomach. If he gets in he'll be in Boston, all the way on the East coast. I was worried what that would do to us.
"Amelia!" My mom called. I walked downstairs and she was at the door. I looked over her shoulder and saw Owen, Megan and Evelyn.
"It came," Owen smiled.
"Oh my gosh," I smiled.
"I didn't want to open it without you," he said. I smiled and he came to the counter and opened the envelope. I knew from the thickness of the envelope that he got in.
"Harvard Admissions would like to congratulate you on your acceptance into the freshmen class of 2024!" Owen smiled.
"Oh my god!" His mom smiled and took pictures of him.
"Congratulations!" I smiled and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me more.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too," I said and wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Congrats!" My mom smiled.
"Wow Owen you're smart?" Megan joked. We all laughed as we celebrated, but I couldn't knock the knot from my stomach.
-
I was getting ready to go out to dinner with Owen to celebrate. I was freaking out. I was thinking about our relationship and I felt sick. He would be all the way in Massachusetts, and I'd be here in Washington.
"Hey are you almost ready?" My mom asked, she was coming with me.
"Uh y-yeah," I said.
"Okay what's wrong?" She said. Now that Liz and Derek were at college there was nowhere for me to hide my feelings.
"Mom he's going to Boston," I said.
"And you're worried," she said.
"It's on the other side of the country," I said, "what if he doesn't see a point in our relationship anymore? What if he meets some cute college girl in Boston? What if he dumps me? I mean it's Harvard."
"Amelia," my mom chuckled, "are you kidding right now? He's so in love with you!"
"He's going to be so far," I said.
"Okay just calm down," she said and hugged me, "just talk to him."
"I'm scared he's going to leave," I said panicking.
"I know, but I don't think he will," she said softly and wrapped her arms around me tighter.
OWENS POV
I got into Harvard. I did it. I was so happy. I was sitting next to Amelia at dinner. I couldn't believe it. I got into Harvard.
"I'm so proud of you," Amelia smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"I'm still just surprised that Owen is smart," Megan joked.
"Megan shut up," I chuckled. We all laughed and enjoyed dinner together. It was so nice to be celebrating.
-
We got back to my house and Amelia and I were hanging out. I figured she would probably spend the night as she did most nights if I wasn't at her house.
"Can I ask you something?" She said, and I could tell in her voice she was nervous.
"Sure," I said.
"What does this mean for us? With you in Boston and me in Seattle?" She said nervously.
"Well, we still have almost a year until I leave okay? And I will come home every break I have to come see you, you can come visit me, we can FaceTime every night, text everyday, we can do this, just long distance," I said.
"So we'll be okay?" She said.
"We'll be okay," I said.
"Okay," she said.
"You have nothing to worry about, I promise. People do long distance all the time," I said.
"What if you meet some pretty college girl?" She said.
"Amelia," I chuckled.
"What? What if you do? You'll be tens of thousands of miles away? And I mean you're adorable, I'm sure you'll meet plenty of cute girls and I'll still just be in boring high school in Seattle," she started. I couldn't help but laugh.
"What? It's not funny Owen!" She said upset.
"Okay, I'm sorry it's not funny," I chuckled.
"Then why are you laughing?" She said.
"Because I plan on marrying you one day," I said seriously. She looked up at me seriously and a small smile appeared on her face.
"You mean it?" She said.
"Of course I mean it," I said, "I will marry you." She couldn't help but smile, which was adorable.
"Okay," she giggled.
"Okay?" I said. She nodded.
"And about those college girls?" I laughed, "none of them could be better or prettier than you."
