<TRIGGER WARNING>
OWENS POV
Amelia attempted suicide. I needed to go visit her. My mom came with me and we were walking upstairs to meet Carolyn. She said it was okay if I came. I saw her and she ran over and hugged me.
"Is she okay?" I cried.
"She's okay," Carolyn said.
"Oh thank god," I said.
"I can bring her to her room, give you some time," Carolyn said.
"Yeah thank you," I said. We walked down the hallway together and we got to Amelia's door.
"You have a visitor," Carolyn said.
"They let the mental patients have visitors?" Amelia said, "crazy huh?"
"He wants to see you," Carolyn said. Amelia looked up and saw me standing in the doorway.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," She said. Carolyn excused herself and closed the door behind me.
"Can I sit?" I asked.
"Yeah," She said. I pulled up a chair next to her bed.
"Pudding?" She offered.
"Sure," I chuckled.
"I convinced the one doctor to get me a stash," she said and handed me one.
"Thanks," I said.
"It kinda tastes like shit," she said.
"It's hospital food," I chuckled.
"Yeah you're right," she said, "you know I'm not crazy right?"
"What?" I said.
"I'm not crazy you know, I mean yeah I'm in the psych ward but I'm not crazy," she said.
"Okay," I nodded, "I know."
"The bars on the windows are cute," she said, "makes me feel like I'm in a maximum security prison."
"Amelia," I sighed.
"What? I can make jokes about it," she said.
"Okay," I said, "you doing alright?" She shrugged her shoulders.
"I'm still here, so I guess God had a different plan for me," she said quietly.
"It's a good plan," I said, "any plan with you in it is a good one."
"You mean that?" She said.
"Yes," I said.
"Okay," she nodded.
"You have a nice view of the parking lot," I said.
"Oh yeah it's really great," she said.
"I'm really glad you're okay," I said.
"Thanks," she said. The door opened and it was her doctor.
"Richard," Amelia said.
"I did not say you could call me that," He said.
"I'm sorry, Doctor Webber," Amelia said.
"Okay well I'm just telling you visiting hours are up," Doctor Webber said.
"He has to go?" Amelia said.
"I'm afraid so," Webber said.
"No," Amelia said, "please don't make him go."
"Amelia it's hospital policy," Webber said.
"No! Please!" Amelia started crying, "don't make him go!"
"Okay, okay I'll talk to someone okay?" He said.
"Mhm," Amelia nodded. He left and Amelia looked at me.
"You don't have to stay if you don't want to," she mumbled.
"If you want me to stay I'll stay," I said.
"Really?" She said.
"Of course," I said.
"Okay," she nodded. She was so fragile and scared. I couldn't leave her. The door opened again and it was her mom.
"Owen Doctor Webber wanted me to let you know that you can stay if you want," she said.
"Really?" Amelia said.
"Yup," her mom said.
"Yeah I'll stay," I said, "of course."
"Thank you," Amelia said.
"Amelia, is it okay if I also stay?" Her mom asked. Amelia nodded.
"I'll go for a walk to give you two some more time and then I'll be back okay?" She said.
"Okay," Amelia nodded. Her mom closed the door and Amelia looked over at the wall.
"You don't have to stay for my pity," she said.
"I'm not staying for pity," I said, "I'm staying because I care about you."
"Am I crazy?" She said.
"You're not crazy," I said.
"I thought this would fix everything," Amelia said crying, "I thought I could end it." She started crying and I didn't know if she would freak out if I hugged her.
"Can I - Can I hug you?" I asked.
"Mhm," she nodded as she sniffled. I got up and walked over to her bed and sat next to her and brought her into my arms.
"I thought this would end it," she sobbed, "It didn't work. I wanted it to work so badly, I wanted to die and now I have to talk to a therapist like it'll make this go away" This broke my heart. I rubbed her back as she cried into me.
"Amelia, you are so important in this world, don't ever forget that, but also don't forget that people make mistakes, and that's okay. But you are the most special person I have ever met in my life, and I mean that, I know you're having a tough time, but I promise you, it's worth living your life. You matter Amelia. Your life matters. You matter to me Amelia Shepherd," I said
