AMELIAS POV
I feel almost back to normal now, I've been going to school everyday for 3 weeks and I've gained a little weight. I still have to go to therapy but at this point it's kinda annoying, and my antidepressants. I feel like I'm fine. I got up and walked downstairs to eat breakfast and I didn't have to rush because it was Saturday.
"Good morning," my mom said.
"Good morning," I said.
"Did you take your medication?" My mom asked.
"No not yet," I said.
"Okay," my mom said.
"What would happen if I didn't?" I said.
"What? Why?" My mom said.
"Well I don't need them," I said, "I feel fine."
"You feel fine because of the medicine," my mom said.
"No I feel fine because I am fine," I said, "and therapy, that's stupid too."
"Amelia," my mom said, "just take the pill honey."
"I don't need it, why should I let my entire life depend on this stupid pill," I said.
"Amelia," my mom said.
"What? I'm right, a stupid little pill almost killed me, why should I think it's keeping me alive?" I said.
"Do we have to argue about this?" My mom said.
"Yes we do, because it's my life and I'm tired of having to clean up the mess I made months ago every day!" I said, "I don't need the stupid pill."
"Amelia Frances just take the pill!" My mom yelled at me.
"Don't tell me what to do!" I said and dropped the bottle on the counter and ran upstairs. I slammed my door shut and looked out my window and saw Owen in his room. I texted him and he opened his window.
"Hey what's up?" He asked.
"My mom is so annoying," I said.
"Why what happened?" He asked.
"I don't want to take the medication anymore, I'm fine, I feel fine!" I said.
"She won't let you not take it?" He said.
"No," I said.
"Maybe she's right?" He suggested. I shot him a glance and he shrugged.
"Or maybe she's not," I said.
"Amelia!" My mother called and I sighed.
"Gotta go," I said and closed my window.
"What?" I said and ran down the stairs.
"Do you want to go to therapy?" My mom offered.
"Do you think I'm fucking crazy?" I said.
"Amelia," my mom sighed.
"No I'm tired of you walking around on egg shells thinking I'm insane and that I need all this work when I'm fine!" I said.
"Amelia I'm just concerned," my mom said.
"I'm done with it!" I said and went back into my room.
"Window," I sent Owen. He opened the window again and sat on the ledge.
"Hi, so, I hate to ask but, can I spend the night?" I asked.
"Sure, everything okay?" Owen asked.
"My mom thinks I'm insane," I said.
"You coming over now?" Owen said.
"Well only if it's okay with your mom," I said.
"Amelia it's fine," Owen said. I grabbed my backpack and grabbed clothes for tomorrow and walked downstairs.
"Where are you going?" My mom said.
"I'm not running away I'm hanging out with Owen," I said.
"Okay," she said, "Will you be home for dinner?"
"I don't know," I shrugged.
"Okay," she said.
"Okay well I'm leaving now, you can watch me from the window I'm not crazy," I said.
"Amelia can we just talk about it?" My mom said.
"I've been out of the hospital for weeks I'm fine," I said and opened the door.
"Okay," she said and I ran over to Owen's house. He opened the door and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Hi," I said.
"Hi," he said.
"Are you sure your mom doesn't mind? I don't have to sleep over if she isn't okay with it," I said.
"Amelia honey it's fine," Evelyn said as she hugged me, "you're not a bother I promise, but does your mom know where you are?" I nodded.
"She does," I said.
"Then you're welcome to stay," she smiled and Owen and I walked upstairs. Owen and I walked up to his room and I put my bag down. I sat down on his bed and he sat down next to me.
"You're playing video games with me," he chuckled and handed me a controlled.
"Okay," I said. I sat in between his legs and he wrapped his arms around me with a controller. We played video games like that for a while and it was fun. I loved spending time with him, and it so took my mind off of my mom. She was wrong about me, I was fine, it was like she said, I put in the work, so I shouldn't have to re live my mistakes everyday through Sheldon Wallace and a stupid white pill from Doctor Webber.
