OWENS POV
This weekend was accepted students day for Harvard. It's coming quicker, I know Amelia is trying not to freak out but I know she is. I asked her if she would wanna come with me since she wants to go here too, I figured maybe it would calm her down, but I don't want to leave her. Megan was going to stay the weekend at Nathan's house and my mom, Amelia, and I were going to fly to Boston tonight so we can be there tomorrow morning.
"Amelia honey are you ready?" I called from my room.
"Yeah," she said as she came in my room with a small bag and a backpack.
"Alright," I said. She came over to me and wrapped her arms around my waist. I kissed her head and she snuggled into me.
-
We were sitting on the plane and Amelia looked so tired. God that girl could sleep anywhere, it was cute though. She was sitting by the window and my mom was on the other side of me.
"Are you excited?" My mom said.
"Yeah," I smiled, my dreams of Harvard were finally coming true. Honestly I couldn't believe it. The plane started moving and Amelia put her head on my shoulder. I know she hated planes. I put my hand on her thigh and she put her hand on top of mine.
"You okay?" I asked. She nodded.
"Okay," I said and kissed her cheek. The plane started going up and she held my hand and squeezed it.
"Hey you're okay," I said softly in her ear. She nodded and looked at me. I squeezed her hand back and let her know she was going to be okay.
AMELIAS POV
We were here. Harvard. It's nicer than the pictures. It's amazing actually. Owen was so giddy it was adorable. I was so happy for him, I was so proud of him, he was living out his dreams, but I was scared shitless what that would mean for us. I know he said we could do long distance, and I want it to work, I so do, but I don't know if it will. We still have about 5 months until he leaves. The time is getting shorter. I feel sick thinking I'll have to go through senior year without him. He was adorable though. He loved everything here.
"He's so happy," Evelyn smiled at me as we continued walking around the campus.
"I know," I smiled, "he really is."
-
Owen was at all the events right now and Evelyn and I were at lunch together. I loved his mom so much, she was basically my second mother.
"Do you like it here?" She asked.
"Yeah," I said, "it's nice."
"It is," she said, "Owen loves it."
"Yeah," I said.
"You're worried," she said.
"Am not," I chuckled, she read me as good as Owen did.
"Yes you are honey," She chuckled, "it's okay."
"I'm just worried it won't work," I sighed.
"Well, if you fight for it, it'll work," she said, "Owen's father and I long distance dated in college."
"Really?" I said, "where?"
"I was in Dartmouth, and he was at Columbia, but we made it work because we wanted it to," she said.
"You'll think it'll work?" I said.
"I think it will," she said. I couldn't help but smile.
"Okay," I said.
"Now I want to know about Megan and Nathan, because she won't tell me anything," Evelyn laughed.
"Depends," I chuckled.
"I don't want to know the gross stuff," she said, "is she happy? Does he treat her right?"
"He does," I smiled, "He's a really good guy, she's got a good one." She smiled and I smiled back.
OWENS POV
I just left accepted students orientation and I saw my mom and Amelia walking back from lunch.
"How was lunch?" I asked them.
"It was good," they said.
"How was orientation?" Evelyn asked.
"It went well," I said.
"That's good," Amelia smiled. I kissed her and the three of us continued to tour the campus a little bit before heading back to our hotel rooms.
-
I somehow convinced my mom to let Amelia and I get our room. No idea how it happened but I did it. Amelia flopped down on the bed and I chuckled. Some things never change. She rolled onto her back and looked at me.
"We can do this right?" She said.
"Of course we can," I said.
"Okay," she said.
"There's no need to worry," I said.
"It's what Amelia does best," she chuckled nervously.
"I know," I said, "but we've got this, we can do this."
"Yeah," she said, "I just wish Washington and Massachusetts were closer."
"Me too," I said.
"I'm gonna miss you," she said as tears formed in her eyes.
"Oh honey," I said and wrapped her in a hug, "shh it's okay."
"I've been scared of losing you from the second I met you, I don't want to lose you now, but we're going to be so far, but I want to make it work so badly," Amelia said.
"Amelia," I said, "I want to spend every day with you for the rest of my life. I want you. I want to marry you. I want to buy my first house with you. I want it all with you. The family, the kids, the house, parenting, careers, grandkids, birthdays, graduations, growing old together, I want all of it. You are the absolute love of my life, yeah, I might be going across the country, but that doesn't change how much I love you, I want it all with you, and we're going to make it happen."
"You really want it all?" She said with a small smile as she sat up.
"I want it all, and I want it with you Amelia Shepherd." I said. She smiled and pecked my lips.
"I'm so in love with you," she said, "and I want it all too, all of it with you Owen Hunt." I smiled and kissed her.
"You're so perfect," I said.
