AMELIAS POV
I was sitting at lunch next to Owen doing my math homework when I felt someone else sit down next to me. I looked over and of course it was Ryan Kerrigan, of course it was, who else would it be.
"Hey," he said.
"Hello," I said.
"Are you busy?" He asked.
"Extremely," I said.
"Oh," he said.
"Do you need something?" I said as I stopped writing.
"No," he said.
"Great," I said.
"Okay well actually I was wondering if you could come over tonight and help me study," he said.
"Can't I'm busy," I said and looked at Owen.
"With what?" He said.
"Not really anything of your concern is it?" I said.
"Fine," he said, "I'll talk to you later." I rolled my eyes and looked at Owen.
"He is so annoying," I said.
"Agreed," Owen said.
"How are you friends with him?" Callie said, "why can't I be friends with him?"
"I mean you can have him," I chuckled, "I think he's annoying."
"He seems very annoying," April said.
"Wow April calling someone annoying?" Jackson joked. Derek sat down next to me and I looked up from my homework.
"Do you need something?" I said.
"What did I tell you?" He said.
"You tell me a lot of things Derek," I said.
"About Ryan, what did I tell you about Ryan," he said.
"Not to talk to him," I said, "it's not my fault he invited himself over here."
"Okay fine," he said.
"You're not dad," I mumbled.
"Walk home," he said.
"It's not like I'd want to see you anyway," I said.
"Ditto," he said as he got up.
"Fuck you," I said as he walked off. I looked over at my friends and they were all silent.
"What you guys don't fight with your siblings?" I said.
"Only child," Jackson and Callie said.
"My sisters and I fight," April shrugged.
"Are you okay?" Owen asked softly as I went back to my homework.
"Owen I'm fine," I said.
"Okay," he said.
-
I was sitting in accounting which meant Ryan was sitting next to me.
"Hey," he said.
"What do you want from me?" I said.
"What do you mean?" He said.
"Why do you keep talking to me?" I said.
"Because were friends?" He said.
"I've know you for a day," I said.
"Yeah and I've talked to you the most," he said.
"Great," I said, "thats really great good for you."
"Why are you so mean to me?" He asked.
"Because quite frankly, I do not like you," I said.
"Why because your brother told me not to talk to you?" Ryan said.
"How do you know that?" I said.
"Because I know," Ryan said.
"I don't care," I said. I finished taking my notes and started drawing on a random worksheet so it looked like I was busy. The bell rang and I got up and so did he.
"Do you need a ride home?" He asked.
"Nope," I said.
"Can I drive you home?" He asked.
"No Ryan you can't," I said.
"Why not?" He said.
"Because I have a boyfriend, I don't know what you're trying to do here but just stop, I don't want any part of this!" I said.
"Fine," he said, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Sure," I said and walked to my locker. I opened my locker and Derek walked over.
"What do you want from me?" I said, "I'm prepared to walk."
"Meet me at the car," he said, "before Ryan drives you home."
"Shut up," I said coldly.
"Meet me at my car in 5 or I'm leaving you here," he said.
"Are you taking Owen too?" I asked.
"Up to you," he said. He stormed off and Owen walked over to me.
"Hey you okay?" He asked as he pushed my hair behind my ear. I nodded and kissed his cheek.
"Okay," he said softly as he kissed my forehead, "you ready to go?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "Derek said I have 5 minutes to get to his car or I'm being left here."
"My mom can come get us if you don't want to drive with him," Owen offered.
"No it's okay, unless you don't want to experience the awkward car ride," I joked.
"It's fine," He chuckled.
"Okay," I said and grabbed his hand. We walked out of the school and I saw Ryan and Derek talking.
"Oh for the love of god," I sighed.
"Did he do something? Why doesn't Derek want him talking to you?" He said.
"Because Derek thinks he's my father," I said and walked over to his car.
"Derek," I said sternly.
"Amy get in the car," Derek said.
"Amy? That's cute," Ryan said.
"Don't talk about my sister," Derek said, "And don't call her Amy."
"Why not?" Ryan said.
"Ryan just go home," I said.
"Is this your boyfriend?" Ryan asked and looked at Owen.
"Go home," I said and got in the car with Owen. I couldn't hear what Ryan and Derek were saying but they got into a heated argument which ended in Derek shoving him across 4 parking spots and getting in the car pissed off. He started driving home and nobody said anything. We pulled into my driveway and I looked at Owen.
"You wanna hang or?" He asked.
"I think I need to deal with Derek," I said.
"Understood," he said, "I love you and I'll see you tomorrow right?"
"Yup, I love you too," I said, "see you tomorrow." I walked into my house and knew Derek was going to be pissed at me.
