AMELIAS POV
I could go home today. I haven't been home in a month. I've had to go to stupid therapy and this place has driven my practically insane. I actually hated it here. My mom came in and was holding the small box of my things.
"You ready to go?" She smiled.
"Yeah," I said and grabbed my bag. I was thinking about going to school tomorrow. I hadn't been to school in over a month. I was scared. I got my assignments from my teachers online so I wasn't behind, but I was scared. I'm sure everyone knew what happened, and the dark scars on my wrists didn't really keep it a secret.
"Amelia?" Doctor Webber said.
"Yeah?" I said.
"I'm proud of you," he said.
"Thank you," I said.
"Can I give you a hug," he asked.
"Sure," I said and hugged him.
"I am, I'm really proud of you, and your weight is up, keep it up okay?" He said.
"I will I promise," I said. I was now close to 107 pounds, which was less than before, but more than 92. I got in my moms car where Derek and Liz were waiting for us.
"You're coming home!" Liz smiled and hugged me.
"Yup," I said.
"Hey I cleaned your room for this," Derek chuckled.
"Thank you derek," I smiled. I haven't felt this good in a long time. The last time I felt this good was when Owen and I were together. He visited me almost every single day, and stayed some nights. That gave me hope. Hope that I didn't mess it all up. We pulled in the driveway and I walked inside the house.
"Come look at your clean room," Derek said and pulled me upstairs.
"Thank you," I said as I looked at it. He hugged me tightly and kissed my head.
"I am so glad you're okay, you are so strong, dad would be proud of you," he said. I smiled and hugged him again. I felt my phone buzz and I looked at it and it was Owen.
"Window? Just saw you got home," it read. I swallowed hard as I read it. That reminded me of when we dated.
"Sure," I sent back. I walked over and opened my window and there he was.
"Hey," he said.
"Hi," I said, "how are you?"
"I'm good, how are you?" He asked.
"I'm good, it feels good to be back," I said.
"It's good to see you back," he said.
"I might go to school tomorrow," I said.
"Really?" He smiled, "you should."
"I'm a little scared to," I said.
"Don't be, you have me, Jackson, April, and Callie all there for you," he reassured.
"Yeah you're right," I said.
"You should definitely come back," he said. I smiled and he smiled back.
"Thank you, for coming to visit me, like everyday, I appreciated it," I said.
"Of course," he said, "I couldn't leave you alone."
"You're the best," I said, "but I should go eat something and get ready for school. I'll see you tomorrow?"
"I'll see you tomorrow," he said. I closed my window and I could feel the tears falling down my face. I missed him so much. I missed what we had so much.
"Amelia? Amelia what's wrong?" My mom said as she came in my room. I started sobbing as she held me.
"Amelia, talk to me what's wrong?" She said worried.
"I mi-miss Owen," I cried.
"Oh honey," she said.
"I miss him so much," I sobbed.
"Amelia honey, you need to give it time, but he'll come back, he visited you everyday for a month, he loves you," she smiled.
"I ruined everything," I cried.
"Shhh it's okay," she said and wrapped her arms around me.
"I ruined it," I sobbed.
"Why don't you just talk to him?" She suggested.
"I, I can't," I cried.
"Okay," my mom said and hugged me.
-
My alarm clock went off which meant it was time for school. I looked at my bag I had on the floor. My door opened and it was my mom.
"Oh, you're up," she smiled.
"Yeah," I said, "yeah I'm up."
"You going to school today?" She asked.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Okay, breakfast is downstairs," she said. She closed my door and I got dressed and brushed my hair. I grabbed my bag and walked downstairs and my mom made pancakes. I sat down next to Derek and everyone was quiet. It felt weird being home, eating real food, all I've eaten was shitty hospital crap, and occasionally my mom ordered food.
-
I walked into school with Derek and Liz and I walked over to my locker.
"Hey," I heard. I turned and saw Owen.
"Hi," I said.
"You're back," Owen smiled.
"Yeah," I said.
"It's good to have you back," he said.
"Amelia!" April smiled and hugged me.
"Hi," I smiled.
"You're back!" Callie said.
"Yup," I said.
"Hey," Jackson said.
"Hi," I said. The first bell rang and I walked upstairs to my class. I was really scared it was going to be awkward because I haven't been here in over a month. My mom emailed all my teachers last night that I was coming back. I walked in and everyone stared at me. I swallowed hard and sat down in the back of the classroom. I feel like everyone was looking at me like I was going to break. I hated it. I just wanted everything to me normal again.
OWENS POV
I was walking to the cafeteria with Jackson when I saw Amelia walking.
"Hey," I said.
"Hi guys," she said. I missed her so much. I knew today was hard for her, and I wish I could just hug and kiss her and tell her it would be okay, but I can't. We were broken up. I still loved her so much.
"Owen?" Amelia asked.
"Yeah?" I said as we started walking to our table.
"Can I still sit next to you at lunch?" She asked.
"Of course," I said.
