a few weeks later
I was walking in the hallway when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I expected it to be Amelia, but to my surprise it was Cristina Yang, we went out a little bit last year but it was never anything serious, we rarely even talked, she basically ignored my existence.
"What's up?" I said.
"We made a mistake, breaking things off," she said.
"Cristina, I'm very much in love with Amelia," I said.
"Are you though, everyone knows Ryan Kerrigan wants her so bad," Cristina said.
"Doesn't matter what he wants," I said.
"I'm just saying, I'm here," Cristina said, "In case things go south."
"They won't Cristina, nice try," I scoffed and walked down the hallway.
AMELIAS POV
"Who's that?" I said and turned to Jackson as I saw Owen talking to this girl. She was pretty too.
"Oh that's Cristina Yang," he said.
"Yeah but who is she?" I said.
"Sophomore, her and Owen has a thing last year," he shrugged, "nothing serious, he hasn't talked to her in months."
"Should I be worried about her?" I said.
"No, gosh no, he finds her really arrogant and irritating, don't worry about it," Jackson said, "you two are good."
"So I shouldn't be jealous?" I chuckled.
"No you shouldn't," he said, "shut up you are not jealous!"
"I'm a girl of course I'm jealous!" I laughed.
"You're unbelievable," Jackson chuckled.
"Don't tell him," I said.
"I won't," he chuckled as he opened the door to the cafeteria. We walked over and Owen was a few moments behind us. He sat down and kissed my head, and all I could think about was Cristina.
-
I was walking out of school with Owen when Cristina came over to him.
"Can I talk to you?" Cristina asked Owen.
"No I'm busy," Owen said.
"Owen," Cristina said.
"Cristina," Owen said.
"Fine whatever," she stormed off.
"What was that about?" I said.
"Nothing, she's so annoying," he said.
"Is she an ex?" I asked playing dumb.
"We went on a few dates last year but it wasn't anything serious," Owen said.
"Oh," I said.
"Are you jealous," he asked.
"No," I said.
"You have nothing to be jealous of," he said.
"I'm not jealous, did Jackson say something?" I said.
"Jackson? Jackson didn't say anything," he chuckled.
"I'm not jealous," I said.
"She's my ryan," He said.
"What?" I laughed.
"Like he likes you, but you hate him. Cristina and I have a past, but I hate her," he explained.
"Yeah she's your ryan," I chuckled. He chuckled and put his arm around me.
"I think Liz wants Ryan tho," I laughed.
"Really?" He said. I nodded.
"Or she was just joking," I said. He shrugged. We got in Derek's car and he drove us home.
"Do you have a lot of homework?" He asked.
"I have a biology project," I chuckled.
"Oh fun, we'll hangout later?" He asked.
"Yeah definitely, it's just some research," I said.
"Okay, I'll see you later," he said. I nodded and walked inside.
-
I was doing my project when there was a knock at my door.
"Come in," I said.
"Dude we need to get mom on that dating site," Liz said.
"Okay," I chuckled.
"She won't stop bothering me because I mentioned Ryan was cute! She needs someone!" Liz chuckled.
"That would get her hawk eyed attention off of me," I said.
"Exactly, MOM!" Liz yelled. My mom came in like something was wrong.
"What?" She said when she saw me perfectly fine and sitting on my bed.
"We've come to the unanimous decision that you're getting tinder," Liz said.
"Sit," I smiled.
"You two!" She laughed.
"It doesn't have to be tinder," I said.
"Exactly," Liz said and sat down at my desk.
"No," my mom said.
"Oh come on," I said.
"No," my mom chuckled, "I don't need anyone."
"Can I get tinder?" Liz said.
"No," my mom laughed, "that site is full of adults you're not getting it."
"Just go out with Ryan, we look similar he'll like you," I joked.
"Amelia!" Liz said as she threw a pillow at me. I chuckled and my mom laughed.
"You are not allowed to date Ryan," my mom said.
"He's really nice," I said.
"And calling you," Liz said as she picked up my phone off my desk and answered it.
"Hello?" She said.
"Liz," I said.
"Yeah this is her sister," she said.
"Elizabeth!" I said.
"Yeah she's right here," she said and gave me the phone.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey," he said.
"What's up?" I said.
"I just wanted to ask if you did the accounting homework," he said.
"We didn't have any," I chuckled.
"Mm yeah I just wanted to talk to you," he said.
"Great," I said, "But I'm busy."
"Amelia," he chuckled.
"I'll see you tomorrow," I said.
"Yeah," he said and I hung up.
"Liz please take him," I laughed.
"I don't like him," my mom said.
"You cannot blame what happened on him," I said.
"I certainly can," my mom said.
"Not when I asked for them," I said meaning the pills. Nobody said anything and I froze.
"I have to get back to this I'm busy," I said.
"Amelia," my mom said.
"Can we not talk about it can we forget I said anything?" I said.
"Fine," my mom nodded and her and my sister left. I curled up into a ball and continued my research.
OWENS POV
"Window?" I sent to Amelia. After a few minutes she responded with "yes". I opened the window and she did the same.
"Hey I'm not feeling great I don't think I can hangout today," she said.
"Okay, you okay?" I asked, worried about her.
"Yeah I'm just feeling out of it," she said, "long day."
"What if I bring ice cream?" I chuckled. She smiled and looked up.
"I can't say no to that," she chuckled.
"I will be over in a few okay?" I said.
"Okay," she smiled and closed her window, and I know I shouldn't just jump to conclusions, but I'm worried about her.
