That's the danger of believing you're safe.

You become less alert.

Whispers cluttered Taehyun's dreams, and call him crazy but Taehyun thought the nature around him was talking to him. He caught snatches of the conversation, urgent cries and terrified murmurs, hazy but the message was clear: danger was approaching. Taehyun jerked awake, breathing heavily. Everyone around him was still asleep, the sunlight pouring through the broken windows, pooling down on the dusty ground, causing the boxes to cast warped shadows across the floor. Taehyun stands, a blanket falling off him abruptly.

"What's wrong?" Jisu, who just awoke, asked groggily.

"I don't know," Taehyun replied, staring down at his trembling fingers, "Everything."

An alarm sound rang out, startling the two.

"What the-"

"It's a phone," Jisu said, "One of us has a phone."

"But I told everyone to break their phone the last time!" Taehyun stepped through the maze of legs and arms and torsos.

"It's Yeji's," Jisu figured. She approached the slumbering girl, who suddenly opened her eyes and snatched up her phone, eyes darting to the two people standing next to her.

"Why do you-"

"I'm sorry," Yeji whispered, but gasped when she saw the caller ID. She scrambled off.

"Mom? Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm at a sleepover, I- What?"

The caller was talking rapidly, sounding urgent, and a mixture of emotions flashed across Yeji's face, shock, panic, fear. "I'll be home, don't worry, I'll see you, bye," She said hurriedly, then gathered all her things and turned to the two. "I'm sorry," She echoed.

"Wait, Yeji, where are you going?"

"What's happening?" Yeonjun questioned as he got up. He registered everything before him and put two and two together.

"You're leaving?" He asked Yeji, crestfallen. The girl bit her lip and turned, dashing towards the door. Yeonjun raced after her and as the heavy door swung shut, Taehyun's expression turned grave. "Wake everyone," He told Jisu, shaking a snoring Kai, "We were being tracked. We need to leave now."

Yeji ran out of the warehouse gates, not looking back as Yeonjun called her name. But he caught up with her, grabbing her arm and yanking her to a stop. "Why...where are you going?" "Yeonjun," Yeji said with desperate eyes, "I have a family. Parents, who need me now. I don't care if I have some power, I don't care if I need to learn how to control them, I need to be with my family." Yeonjun looked utterly betrayed, he opened his mouth to say something but Yeji wriggled her arm out of his grip and darted off through the trees, leaving Yeonjun standing there, frozen stiff, as if all the souls he had reaped were now holding him down.
