"I'm done waiting," Yuna muttered, "I'm gonna ask them what the hell we're going to do." "Wait, are you sure you should-" Yuna cut Yeji off with a look of I will literally use my gift on you. And she got up and stalked off towards the tent, ignoring the watchful eyes of the other gifteds surrounding them.
As she crouched down beside the tent, the leader's worried voices rumbled like a severe earthquake, full of fear and apprehension.
"We could do that," Hoseok said hesitantly, "But will it work?"
"Well, we have to try," Yoongi argued.
"This is too much like the Yanan crisis," Jeongguk muttered, "Where is he, anyways?"
Jimin's slender hand pointed out, where Yanan was seated with his body curled up as he hugged his knees, looking lonely. "He made it here safe, he's a little scared but he's going to be fine."
"Great, great, back to the topic, do you think you'll be able to handle it, Jimin?"
"Yeah," Jimin nodded confidently, "Sure I can. It's just some blood, right?"
Jin shook his head carefully, "Not just some blood. You may suffer from extreme blood loss if this doesn't work. Or if this works too well."
"It's for the best of all the gifteds, right?" Jimin said, "We'll be saving them."
"For how long?" Taehyung said seriously, "One more year? Two? And if it wears off, what happens? Do we do it all over again?"
"No, it will be permanent. I'm sure of it," Jimin replied.
"Very well," Namjoon said, breaking his thoughtful silence, if you're up for it, Jimin, we will carry on with the plan. First, we have to manage the missing gifteds. We could start forming search teams, and-"
"Actually, I think, for once, we should be the ones to search for them," Yoongi put in, "We've always been sending out people, but we are the ones responsible for them, we were the ones who offered them a safe sanctuary. Maybe it's time we do a little bit of the hard work."
They all let out lengthy sighs. "Alright them. For now, let's split into different teams, four of us handle the gifteds situation, and the rest will work out the blood thing."
"Okay, good plan."
The meeting was adjourned, leaving Yuna incredibly confused.
-
"That makes absolutely no sense."
Yuna had filled the rest in with what she heard, rendering them speechless.
"How would that even work?"
"Wait, so they're gonna douse the humans in Jimin's blood?"
Yuna pursed her lips, "Not exactly. I think they'll mix it with some weird stuff and it'll work?"
"Well, but he is a memory manipulator."
"So, what, we're gonna strip the humans off their memories of us? And magically wait for everything to fix?"
Everyone exchanged glances. "Well, yes? I mean, they'll stop hunting us, right?" Beomgyu asked.
"I suppose," Yeji sighed.
"Any maybe we would even be able to...you know...blend in with the humans, and live like them," Taehyun said, a little too wistfully.
"What do you mean?" Yeonjun softly said from his lying down position, "Don't you want to stay with us? I mean, the rest of the gifteds?"
"Just like you, Taehyun," Ryujin said gently, "Our people."
Taehyun shrugged, and then got up, announcing that he was going for a walk.
Yeonjun struggled up despite Yeji's discouragement, and followed the other as he slipped out of the doorway.
