But Ji Eun didn't look too good. As they stealthily walked away from the vans, she stumbled and held her head weakly. She leaned against the wall, suddenly breathless, Jisu stopping with concern written all over her face.

"You need rest," Jisu suggested, but Ji Eun waved her off. "No, yo go ahead," The girl croaked out, "I'll be okay, I know this place well."

Some of them lingered hesitantly, but Taehyun and Yeonjun strode right up to the edge of the garage, peeking out to survey the place.

"Okay, they're distracted," Taehyun told the rest quietly, "We'll go in small clumps, head towards the forest, then we can reorganize there-"

"No," Yeonjun interrupted, "The kids are probably in here somewhere."

Beomgyu looked at him dumbfounded, "You want us to stay around here for even longer? They'll find us in no time."

"What other option do we have?" His twin questioned. Beomgyu stayed silent.

"Okay, then," Taehyun sighed, "We'll go by the door we came from."

"It's locked," Ryujin pointed out helpfully, yanking at the doorknob to prove her point.

Taehyun held his head in his hands. "Okay, change of plans," Yeonjun said, taking over, "We'll have to enter by the entrance again."

"And waltz over, to reveal ourselves?'

"Not helping, Kai."

"But this is seriously unrealistic," Chaeryeong said, running her hands over her arms as if she was cold, "How could they not find us? Are there no security cameras at all? Someone must have spotted us."

"They could be laying a trap," Yeji pointed out.

"What choice do we have?" Taehyun snapped. Everyone looked at him in surprise, their usually cool and calm leader breathing heavily in anger and frustration. "We have no other option. We probably have to complete this damn mission, or die trying."

He looked so hopeless, as if he had lost all his spirit. "Taehyun-" Jisu said softly, but Yeonjun interrupted her, "He's right. We have to do this. There are so many people counting on us."

The others nodded slowly, "Okay. Okay. Let's do this." They looked at each other with so much determination, before they were rudely cut off by Ji Eun murmuring, "This team spirit is great and all, but we need to move."

-

The lawn before them was in utter disorganization of people and fighting. Gifteds were throwing their gifts around with sparks and bolts, humans firing machine guns in retort. Bloody bodies lay on the ground, some twitching, some still.

"Run," Yeji suggested, and they sprinted. It was all going so well until-

"Hey, over there!"

Yeonjun released a few selective words, and for once, Yeji did nothing to scold him. All they could do was run and hope for the best. Ji Eun was falling behind, clutching her head, her legs looking limp. "Ji Eun-" Jisu barely managed out from inside the building before-

Ji Eun's delicate features were frozen in shock as she stared down at the spike in her abdomen. She managed to lift her gaze to the ten with a small smile before she collapsed, her mouth foaming. The solder behind her smirked evilly, before turning into the disarray looking for another target.

"It's been poisoned," Jisu gasped as she made a move to sprint to the girl, but Taehyun held her back. "No, we can't go to her, we need to continue," His voice was pained as he said that.

"She saved us," Jisu whispered out, tears welling in her eyes.

"So let's not make her efforts go to waste," Yeonjun urged softly.

"Okay," Jisu muttered, "Okay."
