"I don't want to read your stupid fairytales!" Yeonjun had shouted at his brother. His sister had rushed to him, and chided, "Why not? He's lonely, and I'm busy." Yeonjun had rolled his eyes, "I don't have time to read. Where's dad and mom anyways?" Yeonae sighed, her eye bags heavy and her smile wobbly. "They're down a rabbit hole, for now, Yeonjun," She murmured shakily, "Please wait for them to get out."

If they could get out.
-
Taehyun and Ryujin came dashing from the corridors, falling down at Yeonjun and Chaeryeong's side. "What-what the fuck did you do-" Taehyun trailed off as he took in the sight of the two sisters. Ryujin cautiously raised a finger to touch Seri, and recoiled at the touch of-
"Cold," Ryujin began to take in long heavy breaths, "She's so cold, did-did you kill her? Why is she so-"
Sejin began to stir, and let out wails of despair as she shook Seri's limp hand.
"Oh god," Taehyun muttered, "Oh no-"
"Forget that," Chaeryeong said, "Can we-can we save Yeonjun?"
"You stabbed him in the chest what do you think-"
"He killed her," Ryujin coughed out, "He-just like that?"
"My-my glass will staunch the bleeding for a while," Chaeryeong managed, "We need to find a doctor."
"Yes," Taehyun said sarcastically, "Because this place is teeming with doctors willing to save a gifted who may or may not have contributed to the destruction of the country."
"Not helping," Chaeryeong said in annoyance.
Ryujin was still reeling in shock, "Did he just kill her without-"
"Yes, he did," Taehyun snapped, "Can we focus on more pressing issues? Like how we're stuck here with a dead body, a dying body and a kid that won't stop crying!" Taehyun's eyes were furious, but more than that-they were murderous. The tiles below them started to crack revealing green roots that rose higher and higher and-
Backing away ever so slightly, Chaeryeong muttered, "Taehyun. You're gonna strangle us."
Taehyun blinked and the vines that seemingly appeared from the ground fell swiftly. "I'm...I'm so sorry, that won't happen again," He stuttered out, standing abruptly and stepping away. Before they knew it, he had run down the winding corridors and out of sight.
"Um," Ryujin stuck out a finger to touch Seri, but let out a small yelp when the girl's body began to dust off. Sejin's eyes began filling with wet tears, and as she trembled, the floor began to quiver, like she was going to-
"Get down!"
The two braced for impact, but after a good minute and no pain, they tentatively raised their heads. Sejin was frozen with a sphere of energy expanding out from her body, but everything was stuck in-
"Time," Ryujin breathed, half-laughing, half-tearing up, "Yeji's okay."
"Let's get Yeonjun out of the way before everything unfreezes," Chaeryeong suggested tiredly.
"Uh, sure, one problem. How?"
-
"Yeonjun will literally never forgive us for dragging him across the ground."
"Got a better option?"
"Not really."
They managed to haul the unconscious Yeonjun back to the group, where a mini-hospital had been set up, along with the thirteen gifteds they had previously saved.
"You again," Minghao sighed, "And another injured person. Who is that smart-ass who put a glass spike in his chest?"
Ryujin's eyes darted to Chaeryeong, but they were distracted by the sudden waves of energy that had blasted through the corridors.
"Uh-oh," Seokmin helpfully said, "I think the place is gonna explode!"
"One second," One boy said, as his eyes began to glow blue and they fell through a blue hole, the ceiling caving in above them. As debris rained down, it was a wonderful time for Yeonjun to open his eyes weakly before they all blacked out together.
