"Hey, boy."

". . . . ."

Heaving a sigh, a middle aged man knocked on the door that was locked in front of him. Behind him was a blonde, tall and a handsome man.

"Someone wants to talk to you. In person. Open this damn door."

". . . . . ."

"I'm sorry. The boy's been in that room for years. I don't really know how he went by inside there," the man explained to the man.

"It's fine. Let me try to talk to him."

The blonde man walked forward, and softly knocked on the door.

"Hello? Can you hear me?"

". . . . . . ."

"Give a soft knock if you do. I'm not here to hurt you."

". . . ."

Footsteps were heard behind the door, and a single, soft knock was heard behind the door. A small smile appeared on his face.

"Can you open the door?"

". . . . ."

"Give a knock for a yes. Two knocks for a no."

Two knocks in a row was heard.

"You can't? Is it because you genuinely don't want to, or is it because the door is locked and you don't know how to open it? Give a kno--"

Two knocks in a row was heard before he could finish his sentence.

"How the hell do you--"

"Let me talk to him. Please, stay out of this," the younger man cut off the older man, who heaved a frustrated sigh, before walking away.

"Is the doorknob broken?" The man asked. The reply came from the doorknob, where it sounded like as if the person at the other side was frantically trying to unlock the door from the inside with just the doorknob, only for the doorknob to not even budge.

"I see. How are you in there? Are you okay?"

A single knock was heard.

"That's a relief. . . . Is there a window in your room?"

Two knocks.

"That's unfortunate. I had a plan for you to escape through a window, but it seems that the door needs to be brought down."

Silence at the other side.

"Are you okay with that?"

A knock was heard soon after.

"Good. I will send in someone to break the door down for you."

There was silence at the other side once again, before footsteps were heard that grew softer, as if they were away from the door. The man waited, until he heard the footsteps return. A single, small piece of paper slipped below the narrow crevice between the door and the floor, which he noticed.

'Why are you doing this?' The person behind the door asked via the paper.

"I heard that your parents died from a Honkai Eruption, and so I want to bring you out of here, and have someone raise you."

". . . . . . ."

Another slip of paper.

'What will they do to me?'

"They will raise you and train you so that you're well prepared to fight the Honkai. You want revenge against them, don't you?"

A single knock came as a response immediately once the question was asked. The man's lips curved into a smile once again.

"That's good. . . What is your name, by chance?"

". . . ."

'Max. That is all.'

A/N: sorry for the short prologue. I promise to you that the chapters are gonna be longer than this.

Nevertheless, I really didn't have a clue on how to start off this story. This was the only one that actually stuck, and so I went with it.

Give your thoughts and comments, please. I appreciate them.
