My breath hitches and my hands tighten into a fist at my side. My face remains calm, but my heart was racing. I could hear the blood rushing in my ears and my eyes went a little fuzzy. I blink, trying to get a hold of myself. I glance at Kakashi again, the corners of my mouth pulled into a small frown. His eyes were trained on my father. My eyes flicker to his hands and my frown deepens. He was holding tightly around something, making a fist. I saw a flash of metal as he held it in his grip. His eyes flicker to me, catching me watching him. His exspression doesn't change, his eye was on mine. My eye brows twitches and I look away, hand reaching to my neck. My fingers close around my necklace and I rub the charm with my thumb, distracting myself.

"Himiko."

I flinch, his rumbling voice pulling me from my thoughts. I glance around, finding the room to be almost empty. Then I look up, seeing Kakashi standing in front of me.
"Isn't Gai waiting for you?" He asks, looking down at me. I pull myself to my feet, adjusting my vest.
"Y-Yeah...." I stutter in embarrassment, glancing away from him. "...He is expecting you as well..."
Kakashi nods, standing beside me. "We shouldn't keep him waiting..." I nod, walking towards the door. Kakashi follows me, walking close behind.

Once I walk out of the door, I instantly spot Gai stretching across the street. My mood instantly lifts and I grin at him, shooting my hand in the air.
"Gai!" I yell, waving at him. Gai looks up, grinning at me.
"Himiko!" He yells back, running to me. His arms wrap around me and he twirls me in the air. I laugh, waiting for him to set me down. He eventually finishes, grinning at Kakashi. "I see that you decided to witness the power of my youth, Kakashi!"
Kakashi rubs his neck, sighing. "I'm starting to regret it."
Gai laughs, giving him a thumbs up. "That is just the thing you would say! So hip and trendy! I will best you one day, rival! But today, I have a different mission..." Gai turns to me, grinning. "Are you prepared?"
I nod, pulling out a click watch. I set it to zero and hand it to Gai, grinning.
"Let's spice things up a little, Gai..." I say, pointing at the sky. "If you run all 100 laps before the sun sets, I will do whatever you want to."
Gai collapses to his knees, taking my hand with tears streaming down his face. "S-So youthful!!" He says, whipping his face. "I accept! If I win, you owe me.... One kiss! Your youth is so inspiring!"
"Okay. Deal." I say, shaking his hand. "But if you lose, you have to... buy me a bouquet of flowers."
Gai nods, grinning. "That is what you always ask for, Himiko. But don't expect any today, I will win without a doubt!"
I laugh, shrugging. "Well, you sure are wasting daylight talking to me about it..."

Gai speeds away, dust clouds forming behind him.
"Himiko is the most youthful woman in all of Konohagakure!" He yells, disappearing into the horizon. I laugh, leaning against the wall behind me. Someone settles beside me and I flinch, forgetting he was here. Kakashi had his arms crossed around his chest and his eyes trained in front of him.

"Himiko is the most beautiful woman ever!" Gai yells, appearing and disappearing again. "Just a smile in a man's direction would stop his heart!"

I laugh quietly, shaking my head. Gai is so extra...
"Why is he yelling about you?" Kakashi asks, glancing at me.
"He lost a bet." I reply, eyes watching Gai running in the distance. "He has to run 100 laps while yelling about me."
Kakashi nods, eyes trailing Gai's quickly moving body. "You two seem pretty close."
I nod, keeping my eyes on Gai. "Gai has always been there for me." Unlike some people, I finish in my head. Kakashi flinches next to me, my words driving into his chest.
