Song- Just One Yesterday by Fallout Boy
"Letting people down is my thing, Baby. Find yourself a new gig. This town ain't big enough for the two of us. I don't have the right name or the right looks, but I have twice the heart. If I spilled my guts, the world would never look at you the same. I'm here to give you all my love, so I can watch your face as I take it all away."The next morning, I woke up completely refreshed. I slept like a baby, not waking up once throughout the entire night. Raiden slept on the pillow next to me, little puppy snores escaping his muzzle. We'd gotten ready together, after I got dressed I tied his team bandana around his neck. He looked up at me, face tilted to the side. I laugh, admiring how cute he was.
"Do you want to come with me, Den?" I ask, picking him up in my arms. "Let's go show you off to the whole village!" He relaxes in my arms, watching us leave the apartment. His small head watches as people walk by us and his head tilts at each noise."Himi?"
I turn around, grinning at my older brother.
"Suma! Just the man I wanted to see!" I say, watching him walk closer to me. His students follows him, Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru.
"What's that in your arms?" Asuma asks, flicking his cigarette.
"This is Raiden." I say, showing him off. "Kakashi gave him to me."
"Aww! He's so cute!" Ino says, petting him behind his ears.
"...Yum..." Choji says, drooling.
Shikamaru hits him on his head, glaring at him. "You can't eat Himi's dog, Baka."
Choji grumbles, shoving some chips in his mouth."Kakashi gave him to you?" Asuma asks, tilting is head with mischief dancing in his eyes.
"Yeah. We went to the shelter yesterday." I say, letting Asuma hold my puppy.
"Hmm..." Asuma holds him in the air, glancing at me. "...His fur reminds me of Kakashi's hair..." Raiden perks up at the sound of Kakashi's name, his small head looking around for him. I laugh, watching my tiny dog.
"He's completely obsessed with Kakashi. At the shelter, he sat in front of Kakashi and just stared at him." I say, smiling at the memory. "When Kakashi laughed at him, he tilted his head in the most adorable way." On que, Raiden tilts his head. Ino gushes, squealing.
"Ohmygod!" Ino says, staring at me with wide eyes. "He is so cute!""Why did Kakashi get you a puppy?" Asuma ask, handing Raiden to Ino. Ino gushes and holds him like a baby, rocking him in her arms.
"Does he need a reason?" I ask, eyes narrowing. Asuma chuckles, wiggling his eyebrows.
"I think I know..." Asuma says, crossing his arms. "He's pretty slick."
"What are you talking about?" I ask, knowing what he's trying to get at.
"He's trying to get in your..." I pull the cigarette out of his mouth, flames from my fingers burning it to a crisp. It's ashes fly in the air and Asuma glares at me. "Why did you do that?! You can't get mad at someone, just because their telling you the truth!"
I shake my head, clicking my tongue. "Those are bad for you, anyway..." Ino hands Raiden back to me, his paws resting on my arms. I smile at him, bopping his nose. "And, if you say anything about Kakashi wanting you know what, I will burn your entire stash." I look at his students, smiling. "I'll see you guys later."
"Bye, Himiko! Bye, Raiden!"
"Bye, Himi!"
"This is such a drag... Bye, Himi."I make my way to the K.I.A stone, wanting to show Obito my new puppy. I knelt by the stone, Den sitting next to me. He sniffed the stone, looking at me in confusion. His head tilted and his tongue flopped out of his mouth.
"This is where we visit Obito, Den." I say, pointing at Obito's name. "You see there? That's my best friend. His name's Obito Uchiha." Raiden yips, tail wagging. "Do you like that name, Bubba? I never really called him that. I always called him Bito." Raiden tilts his head, as if he were listening. I laugh softly. "Why? It started whenever I first met him..."Flashback?!
I was walking with my older brother, who was holding my hand. Asuma looked around, eyes scanning for potential victims. I looked around also, but for a different reasons. I met the curious gazes of my new classmates, smiling at them. I recognize some of them, but only a few.
"Himi." Asuma says, getting my attention. My green eyes flicker to him, meeting his brown ones. "Listen to me. If any boys come talk to you, tell me. I'll kick their ass. I don't understand why Dad wants you to hang out here, anyway."
"Okay, Suma! But what about Kaka?" I ask, tilting my head. Kakashi was one of the only kids I knew, my father had stuck us together at a young age. He would insist that all young prodigies should stick together, it promotes healthy competition. Not that I really cared, I just liked to have someone to play with... Not that Kakashi ever played with me. He normally just watched me play and insisted he was too old for games.
"He's not allowed to talk to you either." Asuma says, shaking his head. "I'm the only boy you're allowed to talk to."
"Can I talk to..." I look around the academy, pointing at a boy. He wasn't here earlier this morning, he must have been late. He was wearing blue and orange, goggles perched on his face. He was swinging on a swing, looking up at the bright blue sky. "Him?"
"The Uchiha? Heck no!" Asuma say, trying to get me to look away from the boy. I keep my eyes locked on him.
"An Uchiha?" I ask, smiling. "Daddy said that all Uchiha's need is a hug. Can I give him a hug?"
"No, you can't give him a hug! Don't give any boys hugs, Himi!" Asuma says, shaking his head. "Boys are evil!"
"If I give him a hug, maybe he won't be sad anymore. Daddy says the Uchiha's are sad." I say, tilting my head at Asuma. "What if he's hurting?"
"Himi-"
"Asuma! Get over here and leave your sister alone!" Dad yells, waving in Asuma from the doorway. "Let her go make friends." Asuma sighs, looking at me sternly.
"I'll pick you up here later... Dad wants you to make some friends, but no boys." He hugs me, ruffing my hair. "Don't talk to any boys, Himi. Promise?"
"Okay, Suma." I say, grinning at him as we link our two fingers. My fingers on the other hand were crossed behind my back, hiding them. "I promise you."
