Sorry for not updating in a while! (This chapter is extra long to make up for it!) We're getting close to the end of the first book, so I want it to be good. Shippuden is next, so expect more Obito some Kakashi. Talk to you soon, I guess. Enjoy!

I walk along the bank of a river, heading past the border of the land of fire. It would be another day or so until I get to  Amegakure, The Rain Village. If I were traveling with more people, add a couple more days. Cicada sing along the banks and random toads hop next to me. I take my time in braiding my hair and wrapping it up into a bun, carefully setting my hood over my head. Wearing all black during the night was practical, but it was sketchy during the day.

As I'm walking, I scan for a tall tree or some form of shelter. I eventually find a shaded oak that towers over the other trees. I quickly climb it, jumping from branch to branch. Once I get at the desirable height, I set down on a thick branch. I tuck my back along the truck and grab a granola bar out of my bag. I try to eat it slowly, but end up inhaling it in two bites. I take a swig of my water and tie my bag tightly onto the branch so it doesn't fall. I cross my arms and pull my hood over my eyes, protecting myself from the sun the peeked through the leaves. I waited for sleep to pull my into it's embraces, letting the warm sun help my along my way.

I found myself in my hallway, just like normal. There was no such thing as normal sleep anymore. I don't know exactly how to control my sight, so I can't figure out how to dream my own dreams. At the moment, it didn't exactly bother me. I was on a mission. I need to find Itachi. There was no way that he is sleeping right now, so I'm going to have to try what I did with Dad when he fought Orochimaru. I need to find the door that leads to Itachi's present. I head down the opposite way of the dreams, walking quickly. The number of doors became more and more, with each one as unique as the last. I trailed my fingers along as I walked, feeling for Itachi.
The further I get, the warmer. It was small at first, hardly even a temperature change, but now sweat was starting to bead along my brow. A drop trailed down my cheek, dripping off my chin. I crinkle my nose in distaste, wiping my face with my sleeve. My skin felt way too hot and clammy, like I was feverish. My limbs were begining to feel heavy, sluggish. My throat was raw and dry, my tongue tacky. I stop walking, leaning up against a door in support.
Why am I like this?
Whenever I touched the door, a cool feeling instantly overtook me. I lean in further, pressing my face against the door. It was a intricately carved door, with stars and clouds carved along the edge. I reach for the gold knob and turn it, opening to a rainy village. I freeze for a second, finding myself standing in the middle of Amegakure.

The rain sprays against my face in gentle waves, cooling off my hot skin. The rain left a sweet smell in the air, filling my nose. I take another deep breath, enjoying the scent. My eyes scan for Itachi as I take in the village around me. The village was huge, towering above me. I felt small, not worth any time. Dispite the sheer size of the buildings, I didn't see any villagers in sight. I walk further, looking around for Itachi or even Kisame.

I had walked a couple blocks whenever I see the familar crimson clouds that were scattered onto a black cloak. He was turned away from me,  walking with Kisame at his side. I quicken my pace, basically running to him.
"Tachi!" I yell, lunging at him. I, of course, phase through him and stumble to the wet ground.
"Ow..." I quickly get up, waving my hand in front of Kisame's unseeing eyes. I grumble, "I forgot you guys can't see me..."

"...Himiko?"
I look up, meeting Itachi's crimson Sharingan eyes. I freeze, tilting my head.
"Can you see me, Tachi?" I ask, eyes wide.
"Barely." He says, shaking his head. "I can only hear your voice and see your silloette."
"Umm.... Itachi-san?" Kisame looks around, confused. "Hime-chan isn't here... Is she?"
Itachi looks at me, unsure how to answer him.
"Must be your Sharingan or something... Go ahead and tell him that I'm here." I say, nodding. "Tell him that I said hey, Same-kun."
"Yes, Himiko is standing in front of you. She says, hey, Same-kun." Itachi says, shrugging.
"She's in front of me?" Kisame asks, waving his hand in front of him. It goes through me, of course. "Where? How come I can't feel or hear her?"
"It's a special jutsu." Itachi explains, "She's not actually here."
"Oh... Can she hear me?"
"And see you."
A grin appears on Kisame's face and he flashes his pointed teeth in my general direction.
"Hime-chan! A little birdie told me that you disappeared from Konoha!" He says, making me flinch slightly. "Where are you going?"
"Amegakure." I answer honestly, keeping my face blank. Itachi stiffens, shaking his head.
"No, Himiko. You can't."
"It's too late. I'm already almost there." I tell him, shrugging.
"What did she say?" Kisame asks, trying to read Itachi's exspression.
"Himiko." Itachi ignores Kisame, keeping his eyes on me. "I can't let you do that."
"It's my own decision, Itachi. I'm older than you so you can't tell me what to do." I remind him, using the words that I would tell him back in our Anbu days. Itachi sighs, shaking his head.
"Then at least let Kisame and I escort you here." Itachi says, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Where are you?"
"Hime-chan is coming here?" Kisame asks, pointed eyes growing wide in disbelief.
"I'm just south. Around a day or so away. I'll make it there fine." I tell him, shaking my head. "You don't have to come find me."
"It's a dangerous journey, Himiko. You're moving through enemy territory. You will be attacked." Aggravation was building in his tone and his eyes burned into mine.
"I will be fine."
"I vote on picking Hime-chan up." Kisame says, looking in the general direction of me. "Itachi-san is correct, Hime. It's not smart."
". . ." I cross my arms, glaring. I think their idea over, biting my lip. Eventually, I sigh and pick a pebble. "Okay, but I'm going to keep moving. You'll have to run into me. I won't look very impressive with the leader of the Akatsuki if I have to be escorted."
"I will find you." Itachi nods,  tone still serious. "Stay out of trouble."
"Hime-chan is trouble." Kisame laughs, waving in my direction. "We will see you soon, Hime."
"See you soon." I say, bowing my head slightly at the men. I feel Itachi's eyes on me as I leave his realm.
