I lay next to Itachi for a while. At times, Itachi's finger tips would brush mine but disappear as quickly as they came. The warm on his body next to mine balanced the cool breeze that tossled my fly-aways and lifts leaves from the forest floor. He didn't speak, but his presence was comforting enough. I lift my head, propping myself up with my hand. I turn to my side, eyes glued on the forest in front of me. Itachi watched me in interest, eyes following mine. I wait a couple of seconds, completely still.

"Hmm..." I hum as I sit up completely. I sit, still scanning the forest. "Thought I heard something."
". . ." Itachi nods, activating his sharingan. He scans the woods, searching for any specific movement. "Someone is coming this way. They're too far away for me to tell who it is."
I stand up, dusting of my pants and then I take Itachi's hand and pull him up as well. Itachi takes his cloak, dusting all of the dirt and grass off of it. I watch silently as he pulls it back on, admiring the honorable set of his shoulders. He is a true shinobi. My father always believed that Itachi's heart was too soft, but I believe that his heart was the most honorable things about him. But who am I to say, Dad said that I was too soft as well. He would laugh whenever he saw Itachi and I together as Anbu. He once explained to me how it was ironic that the two shinobi with the softest hearts was the best team in the Anbu. It's funny how things work that way sometimes. Itachi once told me that sometimes when he looks as me, it's like looking in a mirror. When I asked him what he meant, he told me vaguely that I was a reflection of what could have been. I think that he was referring to his clan and their downfall, how my relationship with my own clan is stronger that his own.

Sticks snap in the distance and the noise pulls me from my thoughts.
"Itachi-san?" Kisame's voice calls through the trees. "...That crazy Konoha princess couldn't have taken him that far...."
". . ." Itachi's eyes scan my triggered facial expression, resting on my downward tilt of my eyebrows. "I'm over here. Kisame."

Kisame's head pokes out of the undergrowth, instantly finding Itachi. He smiles, waving at his partner.
"Oh, Itachi-san. Did you beat the princess?" Kisame asks, pulling himself from the bush.
Itachi shakes his head, eyes flickering to me. Kisame's own eyes follow, landing on my form beside Itachi. I stood tall, arms crossed in anger. Kisame's face lit up, grinning at me.

"Oh! Hime-chan! I didn't expect for you to still be here." Kisame dusts the leaves from off of him, eye dancing with humor. (Hime means princess.) "I'll admit that I am pleased to be graced by your honorable presence."
"I am equally as pleased to be in yours." I bow my head slightly, glaring at the ground. "Fish face."
"Walrus." Kisame fires back.
"Shark breath."
"Konoha dog."
"Akatsuki loser."
"Nose picker."
"Itachi wannabe."

Itachi watches us throw insults at each other, shaking his head. His eye twinkled in amusement, observing our interaction. Kisame gasps, putting his hand on his chest.
"Now that was too far, Hime-chan. How could you say such a thing?"
"You murdered my dango, Same-kun." I use his same tone, keeping my voice light. He laughs, deep. (Same is pronounced Sa-ma, since it's Japanese)
"You must have placed some sort of curse on me!" He says, pointing to a red dot on his neck. "My wound hasn't healed yet."
"That wasn't me." I shake my head, uncrossing my arms. "That curse was placed upon you by the dango gods themselves. They seek revenge for their fallen brother..." I try not to smile, twitching my lips. "You deserved it, really."
"I will pray to them once everyday in order to appease them. Thank you for explaining the cause of this curse, Hime-chan."
"You owe me, Same-kun."

He nods, showing off his pointed teeth in a grin.
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you here? Itachi and I are your enemies, correct? Why aren't you engaging in combat?"
". . ." I ponder his questions for a while, biting my lip subconsciously. What am I doing here? I really don't know myself...
"Kisame." Itachi's voice pulls me from my thoughts. "Himiko's reasons are her own."
"Of course, Itachi-san." Kisame nods, eyes burning into mine. "I didn't mean to cross any boundaries."
"I'm here for my own selfish reasons." I hold Kisame's eye contact, a smirk pulling at my lips. "It is plain and simple."
"Selfish reasons?" Kisame's mouth widens even larger, a grin pulling his tips tight. "I'm sure that there are more men other than Itachi-san that could fill your needs."
"That is enough." Itachi narrows his eyes at him, glaring. Kisame flinches slightly, I almost didn't pick it up. He was like a little puppy, scolded by his master. I glance at the sky, looking for the sun. It hovered above the west horizon.
