Burn It- Agust D
"There's someone in the mirror that you don't know and everything was all wrong."

I groan, tossing on my bed as I wake up. I curl my legs against my chest and sigh, holding my limbs close to my body. There was an hot ache in my chest, a feeling that was choking me with each breath. Kakashi's face fills my head and I sigh, the ache in my chest hurting with a sharp pain. I missed him, more than anything. This feeling, it reminded me of losing him all over again. Now, I didn't just loose him. I've lost everyone, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Gai, Lee, even Asuma and Kureinai.
"Ugh..." I open my eyes and I'm instantly taken aback by my sight. My blindness had faded with the night, quicker than it's ever has before. It wasn't a long vision, but I hadn't exspected to see so fast. I was in a large room, old style sort of decor, with bamboo mats and screens. I sit up and look at the bed, seeing the large size and white silk blankets. Multiple pillows were piled up at the headboard and large windows let in natural light. I crawl out of the bed and stand up, snooping around in the closet and a bathroom connected to my room. The closet had Akatsuki robes and black pants, different styles of shirts and whatnot. I take this opportunity to get in the shower and clean the dried blood from my skin. Whenever I get out, I grab a white long sleeve shirt to cover my Anbu tattoos. I slide on a pair of black jogger sort of pants and wrap my ankles in bandages. I grab a cloak and look at the long sleeves, my nose crinkleing in distaste.
"Hmm. Yeah, I'm not a fan of that." I rip the sleeves off and slide it on, tying a crimson scarf sort of belt along my waist. I braid my hair and twist it into a bun onto my head, grabbing my mask off my bedside table. Out of the corner of my eye, I see myself in the mirror. My breath gets caught in my throat and I quickly look away. I didn't want to see myself like this, not right now at least.
I slide on my mask and walk out of my room, eyes scanning the empty hallways. Making my way down a random direction, I lift my chin and search for anyone in my general area. After a few steps, my eyes land on someone in the distance. Her back was turned on me and I didn't recognize her hair. It was violet, pulled up into a bun.
"Um, excuse me.." I call out to her, making my voice light to fit with my sweet persona. "Can you help me?" She turns around, scanning my appearance with a blank exspression.
"Of course, Mai-san." Her voice was slightly hollow, as her light eyes meet mine. "What can I help with?"
"May I speak with Nagato? I have a few things to ask him about." I say, clasping my hands in front of me. "If that's okay?"
"Yes, of course." She nods, giving me a small smile. "He said that he would be exspecting you. I will lead you to him."
"Oh, thank you." I ask, masking the confusion in my voice. "That would be wonderful." She nods, starting to walk straight down the hallway. I follow her, thanking whatever gods were out there for her silence. The last thing I need right now is a million questions to answer.
She doesn't say a thing as we make our way towards a large room, where a small group of people sat and ate. A blonde guy looks at us, his blue eye scanning me.
"Ah! Mai-sama!" He grins at me, "You've woken up."
"Of course she has, Deidara." A man with slicked back grey hair says, rolling his eyes. "She's standing there, isn't she?"
"Oh, why don't you go sacrifice something, Hidan?" The man, Deidara rolls his eyes, stuffing food in his mouth. Hidan crinkles his nose and shakes his head in disproval.
"Good morning." I tell them, bowing my head politely.
"Are you healed from your fight with Kakuzu?" Hidan asks, scanning my body. His eyes flicker to the man in the corner, the only one I recognized in the room. Kakuzu didn't eat anything, just regarded me with a blank exspression. His blank eyes scan my body, his own face and body covered. "You seem refreshed."
"Yeah, I am completely fine." I say lightly, nodding. "That was sweet of you for asking, Hidan. Thank you."
"Ah, it's nothing." He gives me an empty smile, shrugging. "I was just curious."
"You seem brighter than last night." Deidara adds, scanning me. I nod, smiling under my mask.
"A good night of sleep has that effect." I joke, making him laugh.
"So I've heard... How are you, Konan?" His visable blue eye moved to her, tilting his head. "Did you sleep at all?"
"No." She grabs a roll and turns to her heel, without looking back at me. "Let's continue, Mai-san."
"Oh. Okay, Konan!" I say, scampering after her. I turn back to the men, bowing my head. "It was nice to see you all again."
"Likewise.." Hidan's eyes don't leave me as I disappear down the hallway. Once he is out of my sight, I frown and a feeling of unease fills my chest. I follow Konan quietly, hands tight around my sides. Tobi's words of warning flicker in my head about watching my back, don't trust anyone. I'll have to put Hidan on a watch list. I didn't like the look in his eye at all...
"Here. He is through these door." Konan says, stopping at a large door. "I will leave you alone now."
"Thank you for all the help." I say, smiling at her under my mask. "I really appreciate it."
"..." She nods, turning on her heel to disappear. I take a breath before I walk into the room, breathing deeply as I open the door.

"Nagato?" I call out for him, walking in with small steps. "Can I talk to you?"
"Ah, Mai-san." A soft voice answers, sitting in a chair towards the back of the room. He had red hair, long and parted over one of his eyes. I blink when I see his eyes, purple orbs with round circles in them. He gives me a smile, motioning for me to step forward. "I've been expecting you. How was your night?"
"It was wonderful. The room is amazing." I say, nodding. "I slept very well."
"That is good to hear..." He rests his head on his fist, regarding me with calculating eyes. "I had a visitor last night, a while after you left."
"You did?" I frown, tilting my head slightly. He nods, leaning back in his chair.
"He is our leader, the one I spoke of last night." Nagato says, "He wanted to check on you."
"Oh..." I trail off, confusion settling in my chest.
"I told him what we went over last night, all of your information. He asked how you were doing and said he would visit again in a week or so to check in you then." He says, taking a sip of his tea. "Have you eaten yet?"
"O-Oh, no. I haven't had the opportunity. I prefer eating alone."
"Is it because of your mask?" He asks, scanning it. "I will have your meals delivered to your room if you prefer."
"That would be wonderful, Nagato." I say, relief filling my chest. "Thank you."
"Can I help you with anything else?" He asks, eyes scanning mine under the mask. I watch his eyes widen and confusion flicker in them.
"Uh, yeah. I have plans to visit an old sensei of mine." I say, cursing silently. He must have noticed my eye color change. "He will be expecting me soon."
"What is his name?" Nagato asks, holding my green eyes.
"Orochimaru." I say, holding my hands together. "I need to talk to him."
"..." Nagato stays quiet, blank exspression taking over his face.
"I have some important things that I have to go over with him." I say, trying to convince him to allow me to leave. "It's dire."
"You will have three days." Nagato answers finally, voice hollow. "The masked man would not be pleased if I wouldn't allow you to go, considering that it would make you upset. I will send another member with you."
"I will go alone." My voice change from before. I dropped the sweet tone and turned it into steel. Tobi was right to warn me not to trust anyone and I'm not traveling with anyone. Nagato blinks at my change in tempo and I set my shoulders. "I will not be accompanied by someone that I do not trust. It's nothing against you or your organization. Orochimaru is exspecting to arrive alone and I will not deceive him."
"Of course..." He nods, eyes full of calculation. "If that is what you wish."
"Yes, thank you." I bow my head slightly in appreciation, then straighten my posture. "I will be back within three days, like you said."
"Are you leaving at this moment?"
"Yes." I nod, having already packed a bag to leave with. Nagato nods, his blank eyes scanning for my purpose or anything.
"Safe travels to you." He tells me, bowing his head slightly as I return it.
"Thank you, Nagato-san." I say, turning around to leave. I make my way to my room quickly, so he doesn't change his mind. I grab my bag and sneak through the hallways so I don't run into any Akatsuki, making my way to the door. I slip out easily, walking out of the village. It was raining slightly as I walk through the streets, a cool blast of droplets splatter across my face and clothes. I take note of everything I walk past, each building and landmark, comiting it to my memory. I've never been to he rain village before, so I made sure to pay attention to everything I moved past. Once I made my way to the outskirts, I take a deep breath and move into the woods, setting my shoulders as I run to meet my father's murderer.
